Shire Family Medical is an AGPAL-accredited GP clinic in Sutherland, supporting individuals and families across the Sutherland Shire. Our doctors, nurses and support team provide patient-centred general practice in an inclusive setting. Our services include check-ups, immunisations, paediatrics, women’s health (GP), men’s health (GP), ECGs, skin cancer checks (with dermatoscopy), travel vaccinations and iron infusions. We also support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and workers’ compensation consultations. We accept new patients and support continuity of care. Meet Dr James Zhang, one of our GPs here at Shire Family Medical.
Dr Zhang has a broad range of clinical interests, including general family medicine, chronic care, pregnancy care (ANSC), paediatrics, and Implanon insertion. He also holds Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a Certificate in Emergency Medicine.
Alongside general practice, Dr Zhang works as a Hospital in the Home/Virtual Care specialist within the Northern Sydney Local Health District, focusing on sub-acute care and reducing hospital presentations.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys escape rooms, playing touch footy and volunteering in his church community.

Patients must be:
Over the age of 6
Registered with our practice on MyMedicare
Already on a stable dose prescribed by their Psychiatrist
If you meet these criteria, Dr. Mikhail can assist with ongoing prescriptions and care as part of your regular visits.
