Today is Red Apple Day, the focus of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and an opportunity to raise awareness for the need to 'Get Checked' regularly.
π 1,708 young people hear those four words βyou have bowel cancerβ each year and sadly 288 young lives are cut short due to the disease annually.
π Australia has the highest rates of early-onset bowel cancer in the world
π Latest Australian research reveals 28,265 cases of aggressive types of early-onset bowel cancer over the past 30 years.
π Incidence has increased by up to 8 percent per year. If this increase had been halted, an estimated 4,347 bowel cancers in young Australians would not have occurred.
The best way to treat Bowel Cancer is to get checked and find it early. If you are over 45 years, have a family history or are experiencing any of the common symptoms, speak to your GP.
