The Mediterranean diet is a pattern of eating that I recommend daily to my clients that are trying to conceive. I'm very passionate about it, and the research backs it too!⁠

It has been shown to:⁠

- Improve egg & s***m quality⁠
- Improve embryo yields for those undergoing IVF⁠
- Improve fertility & pregnancy outcomes⁠
- Improve overall health outcomes (particularly in regard to heart disease and cancer risk)⁠
- Decrease inflammation ⁠

A Mediterranean diet includes:⁠

- Plenty of colourful fruits & vegetables⁠
- Wholegrains ⁠
- Healthy fats like extra-virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds⁠
- Legumes/beans⁠
- Seafood (especially oily fish) at least twice a week⁠
- Moderate intake of dairy foods, eggs, and poultry (chicken, duck, turkey)⁠

S***m health is equally important when it comes to trying to improve your chances of conceiving!⁠

Why do we need Zinc? Well it is important to ensure:⁠

- S***m quality (Zinc is an anti-oxidant so it is thought to protect s***m from oxidative damage)⁠
- S***m motility ⁠
- S***m count⁠
- S***m maturation⁠

It also plays an important role in cell division which is an essential part of conception.⁠

Try adding the below into your your diet to improve s***m quality:⁠

- Chicken⁠
- Beef (choose unprocessed red meats)⁠
- Tofu⁠
- Eggs⁠
- Lentils⁠
- Nuts⁠
