“Competition is for the COMPETANT” - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
As John John Florence continues to celebrate his 3rd World Championship surfing title, these words ring so very true. Most people walk around the world in heavy competition with one another. Australia, although many people believe we are “laid back”, are sadly one of the world’s most affected countries, afflicted by dillusional competition. Vigorous scientific and social studies have proven this. Don’t panic, we are not alone. Work colleagues, industry associates, family, friends, partners, neighbours….the list goes on. The human mind is trapped in a state of lack, leading to looking outwardly and seeing competition everywhere, yet most of us are not competent to compete. And we don’t need to. What to do? John John meditates. He’s the best surfer in the world. So why bother? To be competent. He doesn’t meditate for surfing, he meditates for all of life’s requirements. He meditates to have fun. That’s why he’s competent. And that’s why he’s the World Champion🔥😎🤙🏽
