Do you ever have those moments in therapy where you know the concept you want to teach… but you’re not quite sure how to structure the session around it? 🤔💭

That’s exactly why the First & Last Goal Guide was created.

In this reel, paediatric speech pathologist Jacinta shares how the guide helped her plan sessions for children learning the tricky concepts of first and last.

Instead of guessing what to do next, the guide gives you a clear framework to follow.

Inside the guide you’ll find:
✨ A simple overview of the goal (including prerequisites and typical age of acquisition)
🧸 Practical therapy activity ideas you can use straight away
🗣️ Helpful scripts to explain goals clearly to parents
📈 Step-ups and generalisation ideas so skills carry over outside the clinic

It’s designed to make therapy planning clearer, easier, and more structured for busy clinicians.

The guide is a PDF delivered straight to your inbox 📄📧

One of the key ingredients to successful language therapy, is education with parents and caregivers.

How are parents supposed to understand what we are doing in therapy and how we are helping their child when we are using foreign language?!

Be aware of WHO you are communicating with and adjust your language! Drop the fancy, academic words.

Speechie, this is essential to rapport building and therapy. However, if you are unsure about this, I have parent scripts for you inside the PLA for over 40 language goals. It is designed as a ‘grab and go’ resource to use in every session.

Speechie FAQ 💬

“How do I transition activities and games into sessions?”

Yes — kids learn through fun 🎲

But fun without intention isn’t therapy.

Before you choose the toy, ask yourself:

✔ What goal am I targeting?

✔ Why this goal?

If you can answer those clearly — that’s your clinical reasoning.

Only then do we ask:

👉 How am I targeting it?

👉 What variables matter for this child, this session?

Because activities aren’t therapy on their own.

They’re either a teaching tool, a reinforcer, or sometimes both.

The goal isn’t the game.

The goal is understanding, talking, and real communication change 🤍

👉 Comment “YES” and I’ll send you resources to help you plan intentional, purposeful sessions.

Speechie FAQ 💬

“How do I know I’m targeting the right language goals?”

Here’s the short answer ⤵️

✨ It’s not just the diagnosis.

✨ It’s the raw data behind it.

Confident goal planning comes from:

✔ a thorough assessment

✔ knowing the child’s strengths and gaps

✔ matching parent priorities with your data

If you finish an assessment and still feel unsure what to actually target in therapy — this is your sign 🤍

👉 Comment or DM “AX” for my language assessment masterclasses that walk you step-by-step through gathering and using raw data for therapy planning.

A single addition error can change a child’s entire diagnosis — seriously.

The simplest fix? Triple-check your numbers. Raw scores, subtests, analysis charts… all of it.

It’s the easiest habit to build for your whole career.

When using toys with your children to help them learn, they don’t need to be expensive or fancy.✨

It’s the fun, which builds connection, leading to safe feelings and this makes the brain receptive to learning.⭐️

I have a clear memory of administering the CELF P2 (back in my uni days!) for the first time while on placement in a school. The whole time I was doing it, I was HOPING I was doing it right. I remember thinking, I don’t know what any of this means, but I HOPE I can find the answers somewhere afterwards.

The assessment DID give me clarity; however, I didn’t know how to make sense of all the data in a functional way.

The whole process was exhausting and didn’t leave me feeling empowered to help my child.

Not every Speechie is like me; however, if you are reading this and can relate, I created my masterclasses on the CELF P3 for you! I don’t want any Speechie to just be hoping or exhausted. I have learnt it doesn’t have to be this way and let’s work together right now to change that for you.

Send me a DM and Iet’s get chatting! 💜
