How do you give feedback to a child in your language therapy sessions?
It is tempting to either say, “great job!” or “try again”!
These statements are quite general.
For feedback to be effective to encourage change in language therapy, our feedback MUST be:
⭐️Specific
⭐️Positive
⭐️Consistent
⭐️Immediate
Here are 2 examples:
“You said same, that was fantastic, how you picked the items that match”
“Try again, these items don’t match, they are ...” use a sign to prompt for different.
Think about how do you give feedback to your child in therapy? Can you change that this week?
