Mark and Movement I help people reclaim joy through creativity

TRANSPERSONAL ART THERAPIST & COUNSELLOR
I'm qualified Transpersonal Art Therapist and Counsellor. I help people reclaim joy through creativity. I offer one-to-one online tranpsersonal art therapy and counselling sessions to adults.

This is a gentle, creative space for self-discovery and healing. Art therapy utilises a mix of art making and counselling to explore the deeper layers of your inn

er world—beyond words and surface stories. You don’t need any art experience, just a willingness to be curious.

Transpersonal art therapy supports you to reconnect with lost parts of yourself, make meaning from your experiences, and feel more grounded, whole, and aligned. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply craving something more, these sessions offer a safe and compassionate space to explore what’s calling you—at your own pace.

If you are curious about working together please get in touch to book a free 15 mins discovery call where we can see if we are good fit.

Aww this was such a fun and light filled workshop!
Lately I don't take too many photos or videos in workshops because I don't want to disturb attendees by having a 'roving eye' in the space. However, it nice to have a memory of those moments of connection created through humans being creative together.

With life often feeling so busy, sometimes these moments just fly past. Here's to being on top of catching moments and finding the balance of not being too intrusive!

Woo! Looking forward to kicking off Term 3 with Visual Arts tonight.

These weekly Wednesday night groups offer a low pressure, relaxed and social art making experience for young people. No art making experience is required; skills are learnt and cultivated through play, experimentation and imagination. Our creative activities are guided by the interests of the young people attend.

Upcoming in-person Get Crafty workshops at Georges River Libraries

I'm so excited about the creative workshops I'll running over the next couple of months. Here's what's coming up:

July 22 & 28 - Visible Mending
Exploring the basics of visible mending. Visible mending is a practice where repairs on clothing are intentionally left visible, rather than concealed.

Aug 18 & 28 - Stitched Collage
Creative workshop exploring nature, texture, and stitched collage, one mark and stitch at a time.

Sept 4 & 18 - Intro to Gel Plate Printing
Hands-on introduction to gel plate printing—a playful, process-based art form that lets you create layered, one-of-a-kind prints using a soft gel plate and acrylic paint.

Oct 9 & 23 - Self Care Rocks! Collage Cabochon Magnets
Join us this October for Mental Health Month and explore the theme of self-care through the art of collage cabochons – miniature glass pieces layered with words, images, and intentions.

These workshops are for adults who are looking for creative and social connection. Always beginner friendly. Workshops run twice a month at different libraries in the Georges River area. All bookings are via Georges Rivers Libraries.

💯
That's why developing and expanding imagination is crucial. If we we can imagine different pathways, ways of being and world's then we can create them. Maybe not exactly how they are our mind but imagination gives us a space to dream into. The work I do with clients in 1:1 sessions is around exploring and acknowledging reality through the imaginal lens.
It makes it a bit more digestible.

If we only stay in the reality, the place of problem (which is sometimes mind itself!) then there is no movement, just looping patterns.

It's going around a round about and never get off it. Dizzying. We want to get to the centre of the round about and stop moving for a moment. See the options; the pathways aka possiblities.

That's the first part, actually being able to see and be aware of what has and is unfolding and what is stuck in a loop. Then perhaps we might explore what resources are required to take the new path...

Can't a fix a problem where it's made...

That's why we climb bean stalks, turn beds into sailing boats and cut off our hair to escape the tower.

Called to adventure; to change the story. To see how deep the rabbit hole goes. To survive the quick sand, find helpers and discover new strengths through the struggle. To return to a new belonging.

Stories are magic. Some stories get stuck in a loop. Sometimes we need reminding that there are other ways, paths, new openings hidden behind an overgrown weeds.

We need time and space to explore. To see what naturally comes forth when we ask "what happens next...?"

Creative Prompt for You! ☁️

Look up at the sky and snap a photo of a cloud that catches your eye. Let its shape, colour, or feeling spark your creativity, and make an artwork inspired by it.

Need a starting point? Pick one of the invitations below:

☁️ Photograph a cloud and experiment with editing or collage.

☁️ Draw what you see—turn your cloud into an animal, face, or fantastic creature.

☁️ Paint a skyscape or abstract piece inspired by the cloud’s colours and textures.

☁️ Construct a 3D sculpture from cotton wool, fabric, or recycled materials.

☁️ Write a short poem, story, or reflection about what your cloud makes you feel or imagine.

Cloud fact: The average cumulus cloud weighs about 500,000 kilograms—that’s roughly the weight of 100 elephants, even though it looks light and fluffy!

Can’t wait to see what you create.

Tag with your creative response.
