Such an important reminder, to focus on the ‘in between moments,’ make them matter, make them count. They will have to carry us through the hard and dark times. Perhaps a universal truth, not just relevant for Medicine, also for Life….

Our moments between medicine and life are where the real impact of clinical medicine is experienced – this is why our moments between matter. These moments are ours to practice self-awareness…

“All I trust I leave my heart to, All I trust becomes my own” ~ the Sound of Music

2 years ago I made it to Vienna for the International Surgical Week and Breast Surgery International Meeting. And my life changed. The global surgical arena, connections, friendships — truly life changing. Also I walked and sang (silently ofc) in Maria Von Trapp’s footsteps in Salzburg, that special time alone was so worth the effort! Today, I am Faculty for the BSI meeting in KL, Kuala Lumpur, the vibrant, always welcoming and ever awake city of my birth. Surreal. The best parts — discussions are on point, speakers generous with their knowledge and the organising team, simply A+. And life changing friendships….
