Sharing for those in Melbourne - get down to D.S. Aitken Reserve in Craigieburn on Sunday and donate to help those in Vanuatu after the massive earthquake on Tuesday.

Lots of work ahead, proceeds from raffles, food and drinks on the day will go towards the cause.

See you there!🇻🇺

On Tuesday the 17th of December, Port Vila Vanuatu was hit with a 7.3 magnitude earthquake, the worst of this century. With the death toll rising and families and communities being displaced from homes, without clean drinking water and limited contact, it has been beyond devastating for all. Vanuatu Cricket has 8 National Men’s players currently representing 6 Melbourne based clubs who will be coming together this Sunday the 22nd of December to play a charity game at DS Aitken Reserve Craigieburn starting at 11am. With raffles, food and drinks available for purchase on the day any money raised will be used to support and assist the families and loved ones of Vanuatu Cricket staff and players. Funds will go directly towards providing families and communities with access to necessities such as clean drinking water, food, and electricity. As well as rebuilding and stabilising homes that were damaged by the earthquake.

The Vanuatu side will take on players from Craigieburn, Doutta Stars, West Newport, Gellibrand, Footscray Angliss from the VTCA and Ormond CC from the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association.
We'd love you to come down, buy a raffle ticket, watch what will be a great game (how often will you get to see an international side play on D S Aitken Reserve in Craigieburn!) and help those in need of help with some of the basic essentials to life. If you can't be there but wish to donate, please contact the Craigieburn Cricket Club via messenger with your phone number and we will contact you about how you can donate.

🌿 The Window of Tolerance helps us understand how we respond to stress and emotions. This concept, introduced by Dan Siegel, describes the ideal range where we can process emotions and stay present. When we move outside this window—whether through hyperarousal (anxiety, overwhelm) or hypoarousal (shutdown, numbness)—we struggle to manage life’s challenges. Expanding our window with mindfulness and grounding can help us stay regulated and resilient. 🌱

Earlier this week, Bill Shorten and the NDIA made the decision to exclude Music Therapy from being an NDIS funded therapeutic support.

🔹 Despite the mountain of evidence supporting functional outcomes for participants (which can be found here: https://bit.ly/MTEvidence ), this decision will negatively impact thousands of participants' choice and control over their own therapeutic supports, as well as impact countless businesses and dedicated professionals who consistently show functional progress and outcomes in line with NDIS requirements and other allied health disciplines like Speech and Occupational Therapy.

🔷 Please sign our petition to keep Music Therapy as an NDIS funded therapeutic support: https://bit.ly/MusicTherapyNDIS

Did you know that music therapy can support sensory regulation and body awareness? 🎶

Movement activities in music therapy give kids the proprioceptive input they need to feel grounded and connected to their bodies.

This can be especially valuable for children with sensory processing challenges, helping them improve self-regulation and motor skills.
