If you have a chronic health condition such as arthritis, osteoporosis, chronic pain, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or other ongoing health concerns, you may be eligible for a Medicare-funded Chronic Disease Management Plan through your GP.

This plan can provide access to Exercise Physiology sessions under Medicare.

How it works:

• Book an appointment with your GP and ask about a Chronic Disease Management Plan (previously called an EPC or Medicare care plan)
• If your GP believes you’re eligible, they can refer you to an Exercise Physiologist
• Once you have your referral, contact us to book your initial assessment

Please note:
Our initial consultation is a longer, comprehensive assessment and does attract a gap fee. Following this, the remaining four Medicare sessions can be bulk billed.

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, feel free to send us a message or give us a call and we can point you in the right direction.

More Does Not Equal Better🙅‍♀️

A lot of people think every workout needs to feel like complete exhaustion to be effective.

It doesn’t.

You do not need to destroy yourself every session, train to absolute failure on every set, or leave the gym feeling broken to make progress.

Good training is usually much less dramatic than that.

Real progress comes from following a structured program, managing fatigue properly, applying progressive overload over time, and understanding when to push hard and when not to.

Some sessions should feel hard. Some shouldn’t.

The people who make long-term progress are generally the ones who can stay consistent, recover properly, improve performance gradually, and repeat that process for months and years — not just survive one brutal workout.

Intensity matters.
But guided, monitored intensity within a proper program matters a whole lot more.

How to use the reverse fly machine 💪🏼🏋️‍♀️

1. Adjust the seat so the handles are level with your shoulders.
2. Sit tall with your chest against the pad.
3. Grab the handles with a slight bend in your elbows.
4. Keep your shoulders down and chest proud.
5. Pull the handles out and back in a wide arc.
6. Focus on squeezing your rear shoulders and upper back.
7. Pause at the end, then return slowly with control.
8. Repeat with steady movement.

Reverse flys are a great exercise to add to your workout because they help strengthen your rear delts, upper back, and improve posture.

Look out for the next video on how to use the same machine to do a chest fly 👀

How to do a cable lat pulldown 💪🏼🏋️‍♀️

1. Sit tall and lock your legs under the tigh pads.
2. Grab the bar slightly wider than shoulder width.
3. Keep your chest up and shoulders down.
4. Lean back just a little.
5. Pull the bar to your upper chest.
6. Think about driving your elbows down.
7. Pause, squeeze your back, then lower slowly.
8. Repeat with control.

Lat pulldowns are a great exercise to add to your workout because they’re a compound movement that helps build back strength and size.

In order to do this… I do this.

Being able to pick up your kids, play with them, carry them around, get down on the floor and back up again without pain or hesitation that doesn’t just happen by chance as we get older.

It comes from staying strong.
It comes from challenging your body.
It comes from moving regularly, even when life gets busy.

This exercise isn’t about becoming an athlete or lifting the heaviest weight in the gym. It’s about building a body that keeps up with your life outside the gym.

Strong legs. Strong hips. A strong back. Better balance. Better movement. More confidence in what your body can handle.

Training gives you the capacity to keep showing up for the people who matter most.

You don’t have to train exactly like this movement. But you should be doing something that challenges you, keeps you moving, and helps you stay capable long term.

Your future self and your kids will thank you for it.

If YOU want to take the first steps to become the best version of yourself then DM now📨👇

If you’re using GLP-1 medications for weight loss, it’s important to think beyond the number on the scale.

Muscle health plays a key role in your metabolism, strength, and long-term function — and without the right approach, muscle loss can occur alongside weight loss.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are uniquely qualified to assess and monitor muscle health, and deliver targeted, evidence-based exercise interventions to help preserve muscle mass and support physical function.

Maintaining muscle isn’t just about strength — it’s critical for metabolic health, independence, and long-term wellbeing.

Weight loss should improve your health, not compromise it. -1
