This year marks 5 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In 2019, my world shifted in a way I never expected. That journey taught me just how important it is to have the right support. Not just medical, but emotional, physical, and psychological care. Now, five years on, I’m honoured to be working with Cancer Wellness Support, an organisation that provides exactly that care and compassion for people living with cancer, as well as their carers and families.
This July, I’m participating in the Dry July Foundation campaign to raise funds that directly help the people we walk alongside every day.
I’ve set a goal of $1000, which will provide around 29 therapies for people navigating one of the hardest chapters of their lives.
Why do I do Dry July?
Because the Dry July Foundation supports organisations like ours, ones that are there during the journey, not just in the lab. Yes, research is vital. But people living with cancer today need to be seen, heard, and held. That’s what we do, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you.
Every 3 minutes, someone in Australia is diagnosed with cancer. Over 1 million people are currently living with it. The impact ripples far beyond the diagnosis — to families, carers, friends. Often, very little is offered to support those who are holding it all together behind the scenes.
If you can find it in your heart to give, no matter the amount, you’ll be making a real difference in someone’s life including mine (lymphoedema management). Your support helps us offer comfort, strength, and hope when it’s needed most.
Thank you so much for reading and for standing beside us.
