This week is World Doula Week, and my heart feels so full reflecting on the incredible privilege it is to do this work 💜
Being a doula means stepping into one of the most vulnerable, raw, and transformative seasons of a family’s life. It means holding space through the unknown, offering reassurance in moments of doubt, and witnessing strength that is often far greater than a woman ever believed she had.
Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are not just milestones, they are life-altering transitions. They can feel overwhelming, beautiful, exhausting, empowering… sometimes all at once. To be invited into that space, to support, to listen, to advocate, and to simply *be there*, it is something I never take for granted.
I have the honour of walking alongside women as they find their voice, trust their instincts, and bring their babies earthside in their own unique way. I get to support partners as they navigate their role, and families as they grow, heal, and adjust in those early days.
It’s not just about birth, it’s about connection, trust, and creating a safe space where every emotion is valid and every story matters.
To every family who has welcomed me into their journey, thank you. You have shaped me just as much as I hope I have supported you.
And to my fellow doulas, the quiet strength, the steady presence, the compassionate hearts, you are so deeply valued. The work you do matters more than words can say.
Happy World Doula Week 💜
