QI in Action: Engaging Patients and Improving Outcomes in Dialysis Care

Mouwasat Hospital Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, winner of the 2024 ACHS International Quality Improvement Award in Non-Clinical Service Delivery, transformed dialysis care through a patient-centred approach that prioritises engagement, education, and holistic wellbeing.

This project showcases how patient engagement can drive better outcomes and quality of life. The hospital achieved impressive outcomes, including:
▶️Patient satisfaction increased from 78% to 95%
▶️Potassium and phosphorus levels improved by 19% and 28%
▶️60% reduction in emergency visits
