There is one massive difference between those who successfully end binge and emotional eating FOR REAL... and those who don't.

It isn’t how intelligent they are.

It isn’t how long they've been struggling.
(Some of my MOST successful clients have struggled for 40+ years).

It isn't how busy they are or how stressed they feel.
(Again, most of my clients lead overwhelmingly hectic lives).

It isn't how much trauma they've had or not had either.
(Honestly, most of my clients have experienced some kind of past trauma).

None of this stuff matters.

The ONE thing...

It’s that they are willing to quit dieting and stop using quick-fix band-aid "solutions"...

AND instead, use an approach (grounded in neuroscience) that retrains the pathways in their nervous system that are the true source of the problem.

And they are willing to do this life-changing process despite having enormous doubts and fears about feeling vulnerable, about what might happen if they fail, or even about what might change if they succeed.

Yep, these fears are REAL.

But you’re either going to set those fears aside so you can create the life you truly want...

OR...

You’re going to continue to play it safe, allow these fears to control you, and almost certainly NEVER achieve freedom with food. And never live your BEST life.

Ouch!

There’s no "soft" way to put that. It’s just how it is.

Ingredients

1 bunch kale (lacinato kale preferred, but any kind will do), stemmed, washed, and patted dry
2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 c. finely grated Parmesan
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Optional seasonings: everything bagel seasoning, smoked paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, or garlic powder

Directions

Step 1
Tear kale leaves into large chip-sized pieces and transfer to a medium bowl. Drizzle with oil and lemon juice and toss to combine. Using your fingers, ensure each piece is lightly and evenly coated.

Step 2
Add Parmesan and toss to combine; season with salt and black pepper, then add any optional seasonings to taste. Toss again to combine.

Step 3
In an air-fryer basket, arrange kale in a single layer. Cook at 350° until edges are just starting to brown, 3 to 5 minutes. (The more delicate the kale variety, the quicker it will cook.) Transfer kale to a sheet pan and let cool in a single layer. Kale will continue to crisp as it cools.

I asked a question to my clients late 2022.

“How long have you been struggling in your relationship with food & Body?”

And guess what?

71% of responses said “MORE THAN 20 YEARS.” 😮‍💨

Ugh! 💔💔

Can you relate, too?

How many hours of obsessing over food and going down guilt and shame spirals is that?

How many missed moments of fully enjoying your time out on date night or spontaneous ice cream dates with the kids is that?

How much time and energy of hating your body and "blaming yourself for failing” is that?

And yet, even when you have SO MUCH proof in your own lived experience that diets and controlling food & body has NOT served you…

Do you know what is STILL preventing you from FULLY ditching Diet Culture and TRULY making peace with food & body?

Throughout life, we are wired to test our success with the scale. I am here to tell you exactly the opposite - you really need to avoid the scale. It is just a
chain around your neck. It doesn’t have anything to do with losing fat or getting healthy, especially in your first two weeks, when you are working on your mindset, setting a strong foundation, and healing the
root cause(s) of your health problems. You are still in the trial-and-error phase, figuring out which foods help you feel better, and resetting your hormones.

You might get on a scale during this time, see there is no difference, and feel confused, provoked, pulled down. Before you stepped onto the infernal thing, you were feeling lighter and energized, but you see that number and the tyranny of the scale kicks in. You feel devastated.

Seriously, girl - I don’t want you to go through this anymore. Your body will lose all the excess fat, but you need time, so my advice to you is to remove the scale from your sight. This is the most typical problem I face with new clients. I convince them to free themselves of the scale’s harsh and inaccurate judgment of them, but it’s a difficult habit to break because almost every dietician and doctor they have ever consulted with used the scale religiously.

Your real success can be measured by your dress size. You will find that your waist shrinks just by getting rid of stress. (A scientific fact I will explain later.) Soon, your outfits will be too big for you. But the most amazing part is that you will feel amazing, not stressed out. The dull film of guilt and self-hatred will be gone and you will shine. Now you're winning.

Prophet Muhammad said: “When filled with food, the belly becomes the worst container for the son of Adam. It is sufficient for a human being to have a few bites to keep himself fit (which means that it is sufficient to have only what one needs to maintain strength and well-being). If one must eat, then let him use one-third for food, one-third for drink and one-third for breathing.”

One of the most surprising and frustrating discoveries I made that helped me lose the belly rolls for the last time was that my symptoms weren’t actually the problem.

Crazy right?!

So it’s not your fault if you’re trying all the diets, intermittent fasting, supplements, or exercise programs and nothing is working.

Here are 5 reasons why you can’t get results.

You’re ignoring your hormones.
Declining hormones are not a life sentence to weight gain - but the rules start to change and we need to change with it

You’re Undereating (aka undernourishing)
Calorie restriction signals the body to hold onto fat stores and releases hormonal signals to increase hunger and craving.

You’re neglecting the p**p
Excess toxins and hormones are eliminated through a good ole’ BM. If they can’t get out these toxins and excess hormones get reabsorbed by the body and create all sorts of havoc.

You’re digestion and detox pathways are all jammed up
A sluggish liver prevents the body from breaking down food properly which means lots of bloat, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and inflammation (which can increase fat storage through lowered insulin response).

Underestimating the power of stress fat
Stress releases hormones that trigger the body's fat storage response. And it doesn’t matter if it's good stress (like spending time with your extended family during the holidays) or bad stress (like spending time with your extended family during the holidays).

(BONUS ONE...) You're focused solely on your body and not on your brain
It’s not the food that makes nutritional changes sustainable. It is the emotional eating, buffering, overeating/drinking, self-sabotaging behavior patterns that cause people to veer off track over and over again.
