Did you know that half (50%) of recently surveyed Australians have limited to no understanding of autism?
This is why World Autism Understanding Month (April 2nd) is so important. It aims to build genuine understanding, challenge misconceptions, and dispel myths about autism, helping to create a more inclusive Australia for everyone.
This yearโs theme, โAutism and Humanity โ Every Life Has Value,โ reminds us of the importance of recognising the dignity, worth, and contributions of Autistic people within our community. In Australia, World Autism Understanding Month runs throughout April and encourages all of us to take the time to learn, reflect, and take meaningful action.
Understanding does not happen in a single day. It is something we continue to build through listening and learning from lived experiences.
Throughout the month, we are encouraged to:
โข Learn from Autistic lived experiences
โข Build confidence in understanding autism
โข Create environments that support inclusion, participation, and belonging
At Euroa Care, we remain committed and in creating a community where every individual feels valued, supported, and included. Because every life has value ๐
