“You belong here.”

I’m incredibly honoured to be featured in the latest AASW Insider article, where I shared my journey as a clinical social worker and therapist committed to humanistic, trauma-informed care.

From witnessing the deep impact of mental illness in my early years, to discovering the limits of talk therapy in hospital systems, to building a private practice rooted in EMDR, schema therapy, and somatic healing this career has been nothing short of transformative.

This post is dedicated to my fellow social workers.

To those navigating burnout, systemic challenges, and the pressure to always “hold it together”—you’re not alone.

We are not just crisis responders. We are therapists. Advocates. Change-makers.

The future of mental health care must include us.

Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep rewriting the narrative.

Your body holds more than stress—it carries memories, emotions, and survival patterns. If you feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected, your nervous system might be asking for attention.

Somatic healing helps you release tension, regulate emotions, and create safety within yourself through movement, breath, and mindfulness. It’s not about forcing healing but learning to listen to your body with compassion.

When you do, you start to truly move forward—not just in your mind, but in your entire being. 💛 Save this as a reminder and share with someone who needs it.

Some wounds don’t show, but you carry them. If you grew up feeling unseen, unheard, or like love had to be earned, those childhood wounds can still echo in your life today. Maybe your caregivers never said the words you needed to hear—but that doesn’t mean you have to go without them forever.

You have the power to give that little girl or boy inside of you what they always longed for. So take a deep breath, place a hand on your heart, and say this to yourself:

✨ I was always enough, just as I am.
✨ My worth isn’t tied to achievements.
✨ I can let go of expectations that were never mine to carry.
✨ I deserve to be heard and protected.

Let these words sink in. Let them reach the younger version of you who needed them most. Because healing starts when we give ourselves the love we were missing. 💛

Save this for when you need the reminder, and share it with someone who does too. 💫

✨ Healing Your Inner Child: The Journey Back to Yourself ✨Deep inside, there’s a part of you that still remembers—💔 The hurtful words that made you shrink.💔 The moments you didn’t feel enough.💔 The times you were told to “toughen up” instead of being allowed to feel. That child is still there, waiting to be seen, heard, and held with compassion. Healing your inner child isn’t about dwelling in the past—it’s about rewriting the story with love, understanding, and forgiveness. Here’s how you can start:🌱 Listen: What did your younger self need but never receive? Affirmations? Safety? A creative outlet?🌱 Nurture: Engage in small acts of self-care that make your inner child feel safe—like painting, journaling, or simply saying, “I’m proud of you.”🌱 Release: Let go of the guilt and shame that were never yours to carry. You deserved better then, and you deserve better now.Healing is messy, beautiful, and brave. But with each step, you reconnect with the parts of you that are worthy of unconditional love.💬 What’s one thing your inner child needs to hear today?

Share below—I’d love to hold space for your reflections. 💛

💡 Millennial Burnout: The Struggle Is Real 💡

We’ve been called the “Burnout Generation” for a reason. Between juggling endless responsibilities, skyrocketing living costs, and the constant pressure to be “perfect,” it’s no surprise that burnout is at an all-time high.

But here’s the truth:
🔥 Burnout doesn’t mean you’re failing.
🔥 Burnout happens because you’ve been trying too hard for too long.

It’s time to rewrite the narrative:
✨ Rest is a priority.
✨ Boundaries are a form of self-respect.
✨ Your worth isn’t tied to your hustle.
