Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. Tharawal AMS Staff collaborated with Lifeline Macarthur this morning to host the 2025 Out of the Shadows 3km walk to remember those we have lost to su***de at Macarthur Memorial Park.

World Su***de Prevention Day provides a powerful moment for us to come together as communities, organisations and with governments to reflect on those we have lost to su***de and reaffirm our collective commitment to supporting one another

We would like to thank everyone who braved the rain and participated in the walk today, Su***de Prevention services who supported the event and Raymond Weatherall for a strong and heartfelt smoking ceremony Thank you.

We will advise new date for this afternoons postponed community event shortly.

We are looking for people who have the following:
✅ Cert III in Individual Support (or equivalent experience)
✅ National Police Check
✅ Working with Children Check
✅ First Aid Certificate
✅ Driver’s Licence
✅ Covid-19 Vaccination

🌟 Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation at the Gahdu Gathering! 🌟

We were honoured to showcase our amazing youth programs at the Gahdu Gathering weekend during the Wests Tigers vs Manly Sea Eagles game.

Our incredible girls opened with a beautiful dance performance, followed by our boys didge group who put on a powerful display.

The kids proudly took part in the guard of honour for both games — a special moment for all involved!

All of our young people did an amazing job and represented our community with pride and strength. We’re so proud of them and can’t wait to keep sharing their talents with the world.

📣 Calling all young Indigenous athletes! 🖤💛❤️

The Indigenous Talent Identification Day is back — and it’s your time to shine!

🗓 Friday 12 September 2025
📍 Minto Indoor Sports Centre
⏰ 9:00am – 1:00pm

Open to secondary-school aged Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, First Nations & Indigenous athletes who live, go to school or play sport in Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council, NSW, Liverpool City Council Australial or Wollondilly Shire Council.

🔍 What to expect:
✨ Sport-specific testing with Western Sydney Uni
✨ Movement skill development + traditional Indigenous games
✨ Coaching from Academy + guest coaches
✨ A chance to be selected for the SWSAS Indigenous Athlete Talent Program (Oct–Jan)

No need to be in a team or playing sport already — just come along, get involved, and give it your best!

📝 To get involved, speak to your school’s sports teacher or Indigenous Liaison Officer and fill in a nomination form together.
