Waters broke with no sign of labour, this mama wanted to avoid induction + antibiotics and go ‘within’ which is exactly what she did. ✨

When I read her story, I witness such strength and trust and instinct. Incredible empowering support from her hubby and midwife and even a es**rt up to birthing unit from a fellow mum 🤰🏽

Such a beautiful birth story, thank you for sharing with us all & thank you for trusting the Kaia Birth program for your birth preparation ✨

MARCH • NEWCASTLE

I had the best weekend, stepping out of maternity leave to teach our first class at the .hub.warnersbay

Such an empowering weekend, full of chats and learning. We had a couple who are having their second Bub, a couple birthing public with a private midwife and our very own educator Gab with her hubby Zac (because we know the importance of partner education).

Thanks for choosing and for the incredible weekend 🤎✨

Newy, we’re fully booked for April & May. June is booking quick too, we only open five spots 🤰🏽

“What perineal stretching device do you recommend?”

None. 🤎

I know that might surprise you… but let’s zoom out for a second.

Your great grandmother wasn’t sitting there with a machine “stretching” her va**na before birth… and yet, women have been birthing for generations.

Your body isn’t something that needs fixing or forcing open.
It’s something that responds, softens, and releases when it feels safe, supported, and undisturbed.

✨ Tearing?
It’s actually normal.
It’s your body creating space, slowly and intentionally, often to protect deeper structures and allow a controlled birth of your baby.

And here’s the shift we focus on in class 👇🏽

Instead of trying to “train” your perineum with devices…
we focus on what actually supports your body in labour:

• Upright, forward-leaning positions (especially during pushing)
• Water — shower or bath to soften tissue + calm the nervous system
• Warm compress if that feels good for you
• Perineal massage — not to “stretch open”, but to familiarise + desensitise

This is about working with your body, not against it.

Knowledge removes fear.
Fear creates tension.
Tension increases the risk of trauma.

See where we’re going here? 👀

You don’t need gadgets.
You need education, support, and trust in your body.

Come learn how to actually prepare for birth — in a way that makes sense 🤎✨

Our beautiful Newy educator, Gabby, is officially on maternity leave 🤍✨
Finishing up with her final private couple tonight — such a special way to wrap this chapter.

And… this also means I’m BACK!!! 🫶🏽
Sheraden is stepping back in to hold our Newcastle families, with classes kicking off again this weekend.

April is now FULL
May has just ONE spot left
June is already filling fast

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign 🤎
Come and learn everything you need to feel calm, confident, and truly supported going into birth.

Most women are taught to measure labour by one thing…
centimetres.

“How many cm are you?”
“Are you progressing?”
“Only 3cm?”

But here’s what no one explains properly 👇🏽

Dilation is just ONE piece of the puzzle.
And on its own? It tells you very little about how your labour is actually unfolding.

You can sit at the same number for hours…
Then your body shifts, hormones flow, and things move quickly.

Or be “7cm” and still need time.

👉🏽 Because birth is not linear.
👉🏽 And your body is not a machine.

When we hyper-focus on dilation, we create pressure, timelines, and unnecessary fear.

Instead of trusting the bigger picture:
✨ your hormones
✨ your environment
✨ your baby’s position
✨ your support

This is exactly why education changes everything.

Because when you understand birth, you don’t panic over a number…
you trust the process your body was designed for.

Big shoutout to Dr Bill Chun for continuing to educate on this and shift the narrative 👏🏽

If you’re pregnant and want to feel calm, informed, and actually prepared for labour…
this is what we teach inside Kaia Birth 🤎

Part 3: Birth 🤎✨

Part 3 of Raegan’s birth

A fast, controlled descent.
Calm. Powerful. Undisturbed.

During pregnancy, Raegan explained to her midwife that she wanted an undisturbed birth. No VE’s, no interventions & no coaching.
She wanted to be given patience for a physiological third stage, and the same patience for extended delayed cord clamping.

She prefaced with those observing that she wanted a quiet room. That all she required from them was their prayers and presence.

She communicated with her husband exactly what she would need from him, and how he could best support her during labour..

Her biggest tools: preparation, mindset, scripture, trust, and her husband loving, supporting, and praying from beginning to end. 🤍

This is the result. These moments.

Yes, this was her 4th time! But there was once a first time too, where she gave the same trust to her body and the process of childbirth.

These are the stories we should be sharing.
Watching. Learning from.

Teaching the next generation that birth can feel safe, supported, full of love and most of all- beautiful.

Part 2 of Raegan’s birth 🤎

Her 4th hospital birth… on her terms.

Her husband Jireh holding her.
Their three babies in the room.
Surrounded by family.

A room FULL of love, safety and trust.

Because just because a hospital gives you a “number”…
doesn’t mean that’s what your birth has to look like.

You are in charge of your birth, and you have full autonomy over your body and your baby.

Hospital births can be holistic, too!

Part 1 of my sister, Raegan’s birth ✨

Early labour looked like this…
No rushing. No panic.

At home, in her safe space..
swaying, resting, eating, and fully tuning into her body.

Letting contractions build.
Letting her body lead.
Trusting the process and her body from the very beginning.
