Your cervix doesn’t just “open.”
It softens, thins, moves, responds to hormones, blood flow, pressure, and safety.

The mucus plug coming away doesn’t mean labour has started.
10cm isn’t a finish line.

If birth felt scary, I wouldn’t ignore that feeling — I’d listen to it.

Fear in birth doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.
It usually means you haven’t been given the right support, information, or space to ask questions yet.

I’d research my care team.
I’d question what’s offered — because not everything is necessary and nothing is mandatory.
I’d ask early about 1:1 midwifery care.
I’d bring my partner to birth education so we felt like a team.
I’d plan for my fourth trimester, not just the birth day.
And I’d learn about breastfeeding before I was exhausted and emotional.

Birth confidence doesn’t come from being “brave.”
It comes from education, support, and feeling heard.
