Craving sweets? High bump? Does it mean a baby girl is on the way? 🎀

While modern medicine gives us definitive answers through NIPT screening and 20-week morphology scans, we still love the fun of old wives' tales.

Spoiler alert: A baby's heart rate changing or your skin breaking out is mostly just the magic of pregnancy hormones, not a gender giveaway! But it's always fun to guess.

Tell us in the comments: Did these myths actually predict your baby's gender correctly, or were they completely wrong? 🔮👇

Let’s talk about something 1 in 2 women will experience at least once: UTIs.

While urinary tract infections are always uncomfortable, they require a little extra attention if you are pregnant or trying to conceive. During pregnancy, your urinary tract changes structure slightly, which can increase the risk of a simple bladder infection tracking upwards toward the kidneys.

The good news? They are highly treatable with pregnancy-safe antibiotics, but early intervention is key.

Our top clinical advice: Don’t try to "flush it out" with cranberry juice alone if you are experiencing a true burning sensation. Drink plenty of water, but call our rooms so we can test a quick urine sample and get you the right treatment fast.

More than just a "treat"—it’s therapeutic care for two.

As your pregnancy progresses, your body undergoes incredible changes. While the "glow" is real, so are the aching hips, the lower back tension, and the restless nights. This is where pregnancy massage becomes a vital part of your wellness routine.

⚠️ A Note on Safety:
Your safety is our priority. When booking a massage, it is essential to ensure your therapist is a qualified prenatal practitioner.

Pregnancy massage requires specialised knowledge of anatomy and "off-limits" pressure points. Always look for practitioners who are members of accredited bodies like Massage & Myotherapy Australia.

Do you have a pregnant massage therapist recommendation? Tag them in the comments! 👇

Moving from one child to two is a beautiful milestone, but it’s also one of the biggest transitions a family can make. While you might feel like a "pro" the second time around, the logistics of balancing a newborn with a toddler (or older child) requires a whole new set of strategies!

Here are our top tips for preparing and smoothing the transition for everyone in the family. Remember that every pregnancy and every baby is different. Just because your first was a "good sleeper" or an "easy feeder" doesn’t mean the second will be the same (and vice-versa!). We are here to support you through the unique challenges of this journey, ensuring both you and your new addition are thriving.

Today is World Preeclampsia Day 🕊️

Preeclampsia is a serious condition that affects roughly 1 in 20 pregnancies in Australia. It can develop quickly after the 20-week mark, and because it often presents with "silent" symptoms, knowing what to look for is one of the most powerful tools you have.

We’ve put together this guide to help you recognise the warning signs that shouldn't be ignored.

"Is it okay to sleep on my back?" "How many pillows is too many?" 😴

Sleep is one of the biggest challenges in the second and third trimesters. While we want you to be comfortable, our top clinical tip is to sleep on your side once you reach 28 weeks.

Research shows that sleeping on your side (either side!) helps optimise blood flow and oxygen to your baby. If you wake up on your back, don't panic! Just roll back onto your side and settle back in.

Swipe through for our tips on creating the ultimate "pillow fortress" for a better night’s rest.

Receiving a letter or a phone call saying you need a colposcopy can feel a little daunting—but we want to reassure you that this is a very common, routine follow-up. 🩺✨

In Australia, the National Cervical Screening Program is designed to catch cell changes early, long before they ever become serious. A colposcopy is simply the next step in that "safety net." It isn't a diagnosis of cancer; it's a way for us to get a highly magnified view of your cervix to decide if any treatment is needed.

A few tips for your appointment:
✅ You don’t need to do anything special to prepare.
✅ Try to book it for a time when you aren't on your period (though we can still do it if the flow is light!).
✅ Bring a friend or partner if it makes you feel more comfortable however one of our female nurses will be there to support you.

Our team is here to talk you through every step and ensure you feel safe and informed. If you have questions before your appointment, please don't hesitate to ask!
