3 things women 40+ can do right NOW to protect their bones.
In my other job, I work in aged care helping older Australians live independently in their homes.
Recently, one of my clients was simply standing in her kitchen making dinner.
No fall.
No accident.
Her bones were so fragile from osteoporosis that her leg just gave way and broke.
Another lovely woman I help is now permanently hunched over because the bones in her spine have slowly weakened and collapsed over time.
Seeing things like this changes the way you think about health.
It’s a reminder that bone strength in our 70s and 80s is built decades earlier.
For women especially, our 40s and 50s are such an important time to support our bones through:
✔ Strength training
✔ Enough calcium in our diet
✔ Vitamin D to help absorb that calcium
This isn’t about being perfect or turning into a gym ju**ie.
It’s about taking small steps now so our future selves can stay strong, mobile and independent.
It’s also one of the things I help busy mums look at inside my Meal Makeover service, making sure everyday meals are actually supporting long-term health, including getting enough calcium.
Because the habits we build today really do shape the way we age.
