By the time children start school, we expect “s” and “z” to be said accurately.

If your child is:
• older than 3.5 yrs
• at school or going to school soon
• aware of it
• being corrected by peers
• starting to feel self-conscious

…it’s a great time to step in.

Lisps are very treatable.
And the longer a speech pattern is practised, the more automatic it becomes.

You don’t need to panic.
But you also don’t need to “wait it out.”

Clarity now = confidence later.

Does your child use echolalia, repeat lines from YouTube, TV shows or use the same phrases over and over? They might be a Gestalt Language Processor (GLP).

Gestalt Language Processing is a natural language development pathway where children learn whole phrases first and gradually break them down into smaller parts, eventually building flexible, self-generated language with grammar.

This is why early-stage GLPs often struggle to answer questions, it’s not defiance or due to understanding, it’s how their language system develops.

Our latest blog explains the stages of GLP, why answering questions can be tricky, and how speech pathologists support children at each stage.

It's day 1 of Speech Pathology Australia Week.

We know today’s theme is about our clients, but we can’t help but reflect on the special connections WE make every day with our kiddos. 💕

These are some beautiful words we received last week in a card from a client's parent. We're reminded of why we do what we do. To help build meaningful connections so our kiddos can grow, and thrive

July is Disability Pride Month - a time to celebrate and embrace the many ways we move, think, feel, and connect with the world.

This month, we've been honouring the strength and joy of the disability community and proudly supporting and embracing our incredible kiddos and their families.

Together, we’re always learning, listening, and growing so that every voice feels seen, heard, and valued.
💚💙🤍💛❤️🖤
