Here are just a few snaps from our recent outreach trip to the NT.

Supporting regional and remote communities is such an important part of what we do. We love building local connections, exploring some incredible places, and helping participants access the supports that matter most to them.

When clinicians work together, support becomes clearer, more consistent and easier to put into practice.

When one participant began experiencing increased behaviours of risk during personal care, it was affecting their confidence and daily routine. Their Ability Action Australia Occupational Therapist and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner worked together to understand what was happening and create a shared plan.

The OT focused on simplifying the personal care routine and introducing practical strategies, while the PBS Practitioner explored triggers and supported consistent responses across the team.

Together, they helped create a more predictable routine, reduced confusion for the support team and supported the participant to feel safer and more confident day to day.

That’s the benefit of a multidisciplinary approach: connected support that works in real life.

And the National Roadshow continues in Tasmania, Melbourne and Canberra! It’s been a great few days connecting with our teams, sharing updates in person and hearing valuable insights about what matters most locally.

These conversations are an important part of keeping our 'why' front and centre, and strengthening the connection, collaboration and culture that help us support participants to get more out of life today.

Why does Assistive Technology matter? Our Occupational Therapy team recently supported a participant with complex physical needs through assistive technology recommendations, hospital discharge planning, and manual handling guidance for their support team.

The outcome was a more coordinated plan for returning home, with safer manual handling approaches and equipment recommendations designed to better support comfort, positioning, and day-to-day care.

It’s a reminder that good outcomes are often built through careful assessment, practical problem-solving, and strong clinical collaboration.
