ACL rupture🏀part 2

To replace a ruptured ACL, a graft is needed to act as the “new ACL”.🦿

This baller had his hamstrings tendon along the inside part of the thigh removed through a small incision🔪, to replace the ruptured ACL. Without proper rehab, he felt the hamstrings on the injured side was weaker, and had mild discomfort when he fully bent his knee🧎🏼‍♂️. To work around that, on top of the manual therapy provided for managing his ni**le, we were strengthening his hamstrings at a comfortable range. We will gradually progress the exercises to build up his strength and help him move full range pain-free💪🏽⛹🏽‍♂️

澳洲最常見的前十字韌帶重建手術方法,是以大腿後肌其中一條肌肉 — 膕繩肌的筋腱去取代已斷裂的前十字韌帶。

這位籃球運動員由於在手術後沒有進行正確的復康訓練,他明顯感覺到被取出膕繩肌筋腱的一方大腿後肌力量較弱,而且膝關節屈曲幅度較大時會有輕微不適。除了西式針灸、手法治療和肌肉協調訓練,循序漸進的大腿後肌力訓練強度和幅度是改善膝關節不適及重返賽場的重要一環。

ACL rupture 🏀 part 1

This former professional basketball athlete⛹🏽‍♂️DID NOT HAVE ANY PROPER REHAB after his overseas ACL reconstruction surgery 7 months ago.

Pain had been limiting his knee movements, he could not fully bend his knee without clenching his jaw❌🧎🏼‍♂️After performing some manual therapy on his knee joint and soft tissues, we brought the pain down to a much more manageable level.

To improve his pain, movements, and range of motion, we are focusing on improving his muscular control and strength deficit⚖️.

Here are some single-leg quadriceps-focused exercises🦵🏽that he is doing as part of his knee rehab program.

這位前職業籃球運動員7個月前完成了前十字韌帶重建手術,但他一直以來都沒有做過任何復康治療和訓練。

膝關節的痛楚到現時仍然影響他的活動幅度。透過西式針灸及手法治療,他的膝關節活動幅度已經回復到未受傷前的水平。

對於這位籃球員而言,重返籃球場是他的最終目標。要應付高強度比賽,如果治療只是集中於痛症處理而忽略肌肉訓練,運動員會會很難回復到受傷前的水平。我們現階段會進行不同的肌肉訓練,包括肌肉控制及肌肉力量訓練,讓雙腳有足夠能力重返初階籃球訓練。

影片中示範了一些單腳四頭肌力量訓練的運動,待運動員的肌肉協調、控制和力量進一步提升,我們會進行針對性的運動表現訓練,包括跳躍、著地、突然減速、轉方向等等元素。

The 9 month mark of returning to sports is the🔑, re-injury rate reduces by 51% each month, up to 9 months after surgery.

做完前十字韌帶重建手術建議最少需要9個月時間才重返賽場,可能你會見過有職業運動員6個月就復出,其實就算有私人醫療團隊協助做密集式的復康治療和訓練,半年就復出運動員是仍然在承受相當大的再受傷風險。

🦵🏼 ACL

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is 1 of the 4 major ligaments that connects your femur (thigh bone) to your Tibia (shin bone) to provide stability to the knee joint during movements. It prevents your shin bone from sliding forward

An ACL injury 🩼often occurs when the person pivots while changing directions, stops suddenly or lands from a jump.

Next few posts I’ll share some interesting statistics about the ACL.

前十字韌帶是膝關節其中一條重要韌帶,主要功能是為膝關節提供穩定性、防止膝頭過度扭動及脛骨過度向前移動。最常見的前十前靭帶撕裂或斷裂發生於急停、轉方向等動作。

曾經有病人說他最近行樓梯太多導致膝頭痛,懷疑自己是十字韌帶受傷,這個可能性是接近零。如果膝頭沒有大幅度扭動過,基本上不需要擔心是十字韌帶受傷。
