If you are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 you may be eligible for antiviral or other early treatment for COVID-19. People at higher risk include those over 60 years old or those who have chronic health conditions.

If you test positive to COVID-19 or register a positive rapid antigen test, you’ll receive a survey link and some questions from NSW Health via SMS. If you’re identified as higher risk after completing these, you will receive a SMS from Healthdirect Australia about discussing antivirals with your GP.

We are currently working with Healthdirect Australia, the national government-funded virtual health provider, to help people at higher risk access antivirals.

If you’ve called the National Coronavirus Helpline or healthdirect helpline during the pandemic with a health question, it’s likely you have received trusted information and advice from these services run by Healthdirect Australia.
