Hi everyone,
As the cold weather continues, Care Centrix Disability Services is reaching out to the community for support. We’re currently assisting individuals with disabilities who are in need of warm clothes, blankets, and other basic essentials.

If you have any clean and gently used items such as:
• Jackets or jumpers
• Tracksuits or pants
• Socks, gloves, beanies
• Blankets or bedding
• Any other clothing in good condition

We would be grateful for your donation. Every item can bring warmth and comfort to someone in need this winter. ❄️

It was a pleasure meeting Narelle yesterday from the Aboriginal community. Narelle has worked as an Aboriginal Liaison Officer in various hospitals for over 30 years, and it was truly inspiring to hear about her experiences.

We had a very insightful conversation about how we can better support NDIS participants by tailoring services to meet each individual’s unique needs and preferences.

Thank you, Narelle, for your time and for sharing your valuable knowledge. We deeply appreciate your support and look forward to working together to make a positive impact through the Care Centrix team.

Some very special friends come to mind on this women’s day weekend🫶🏼💕

Ahead of International Women’s Day this Saturday 8 March, we’re sharing stories of women with Down syndrome who are achieving great things—like Olivia Hargroder.

Olivia is set to star in Baby Cat, an upcoming feature film from Bus Stop Films. The organisation, led by people with disability, is changing the way people with disability are represented on screen.

“Auditioning for the film was just mind-blowing crazy,” says Olivia. “I could honestly talk about it forever because I am just so, so excited. I can't wait for you guys to see it when it's all done.”

Olivia’s story is a wonderful example of women with Down syndrome in Australia breaking barriers and achieving their dreams.

And what tips would Olivia give to others chasing their dream job?

“Dream, believe, achieve. If you have a dream and you work really, really hard to get to that dream, hold on to that dream and you can smash through it. Because I know you can!”

2025’s IWD theme is 'Accelerate Action'

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum. Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.

So, together, let's Accelerate Action to speed up the rate of progress worldwide! 👏
