This is the reality of someone who jumps from room to room, even location to location with their work. This isn’t the completed commission yet, I’ll post a much nicer photo once it’s all handed over, BUT, I just try to fit in doing what I can where I can and when I can! It’s a nightmare sometimes 😂 but I love it!

Not too long until I’ll have the time and space to focus on a project for more than an hour at a time 🙃 I love designing these boards with your favourite things!!

This little ray of sunshine! Amelia decided to move from painting a moon to painting her hand! On Saturday, Mikayla decided to paint her FACE! I am very proud to say that I did not instigate either of them to do what they did 🤣 but man did they have fun!

Currently adding face and body paint to the list. Looks like hand and arm painting could be a good side quest! (FYI parents 😬🤣) if you haven’t got dedicated Ataris Art clothes yet, might be time to have a think about it… 😬😌🥰

Hey to all the new faces in the follows 🤍 My name’s Leesh (Alecia) ASL: 38, Female, Kentlyn — Ataris Art Studio 🎨

The studio has been up and running for almost 2 years now which feels wild! The first 12–18 months were a LOT. Deep diving. Trial and error. Trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Giving so much of what I do away in a space that just wasn’t meant for me, until I released myself from the ball and chain last year 🥳

The second I did that, doors opened, things clicked and it all of a sudden all made sense.

I have two incredible boys. We’re lucky enough to live on my parents’ property, which is also where the studio lives. I genuinely don’t know where I’d be the last few years without them. Relationships evolve — deep diving into them isn’t always easy… but it’s always worth it.

I love what I do. I love what each and every one of you brings into this space and I am so grateful (and buzzing) for the changes happening right now — expanding, refining, growing to create an art space that makes your inner child squeal with excitement the second you walk in!

Ataris Art + School projects = an abundance of ideas, the pressure taken out of “homework”, less stress for the kidlets! Ruby came in this afternoon and asked if I could help her draw some animals for her project — and the answer was of course YES!

This is their time, their space. I’m here to guide, advise and champion them on! How good is her Seal 😭😍

And a HUGE shoutout to Ruby’s Nan, Jenny who built 3 easels for me whilst we drew this afternoon! Best Art Studio family ever 🤍 thank you, Jen. You’re the best!!

Ataris is growing, y’all! 😍🫟

The more this space is shared, the more Young Artists are given opportunities. And with more opportunities comes growth! This is growth that allows the studio to evolve, to welcome more creatives, to build stronger community connection, and to create future job pathways within these walls.

Next term, we will see 2 days move into small, curated group sessions. These will be capped at 6 artists to keep them intentional, supported and creatively alive.

A limited number of 1:1 spaces will remain available.

We’re building something sustainable here at Ataris Art. Once our upstairs area has been renovated, we will be able to create more and expand in new ways.

It’s about creating a studio that hums with energy, collaboration and confidence 💪🏼

Today, Kim came in and was the very first to utilise the space for something other than a workshop, open session or 1:1 session. Kim brought in a painting that she had started many moons ago but never completed. She has wanted to get back into painting for a long time now, but couldn’t find the inspiration to create. So we’re starting here.

While Kim filled in her background with this stunning Cobalt Blue, I filled my paint bottles up and we talked. We would revisit the next stages of her painting and how she will move forward with it and bring it to life over the coming weeks.

What will a casual session here look like? We’re figuring that out now. How magical. I loved having you here, Kim. Thank you for reaching out and I can’t wait to see you flourish back into your love of painting! 🤍
