Awarded Dux in his final year of studies at University of Notre Dame, Australia, Dr Jobe Shatrov completed training in orthopaedic surgery in February 2019. An orthopaedic knee surgeon, at the forefront of research, innovation and teaching, he has completed prestigious fellowships, including at the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in France focusing on robotic knee surgery; and the Centre Orthopedic SANTY, a leading treatment centre for professional footballers from across Europe, focusing on ACL and sports knee injuries. He continues this work with elite athletes at his final fellowship at the Fortius Clinic in London, UK.
A cutting-edge researcher, Dr Shatrov has published widely and received domestic and international awards. He continues to be involved in international collaborative research in robotic knee arthroplasty, ACL and sports knee surgery. He is a sought-after speaker and, when in Australia, is also hands-on teaching orthopaedic trainees for the Australian Orthopaedic Association and other bodies.
Upon returning to Sydney, aside from resuming his full-time position at Hornsby and Kur-ring-gai Hospital, he will complete his PhD at the University of Sydney, focusing on the topic of the patellofemoral joint in total knee arthroplasty.
