We had a very special piece of history delivered straight to our door at RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village this week!

We received a visit from Angie Berry (née Gill), a direct descendant of the Gill family who originally owned our historic Moonby House.
Angie beautifully gifted us four copies of an incredible book written by her mother. It is a wonderfully detailed and informative book that dives deep into the life of John Gill, his family, and the history of the land our village is built on. 📜✨

To make sure everyone can enjoy these fascinating stories, we are placing one copy in each section of our facility for residents and families to read, and the fourth copy will find its permanent home right inside historic Moonby House itself.

A massive thank you to Angie for this beautiful donation and for keeping her family's legacy connected with our village family. 🧡

What a beautiful morning for a wonderful cause! 🧡✨

Last week our RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village community came together to host our Biggest Morning Tea and we are absolutely thrilled to announce that together we raised $424 for the Cancer Council NSW! 💰🙌

As you can see from the photos, the village was full of big smiles, great conversations and a seriously delicious spread of yummy treats. 🧁☕

A big thank you to all who helped make the morning so special! 🌟

Concentration in action! 🎯🧐

Residents in RFBI Concord Community Village have been enjoying some wonderful new interactive games designed to support cognitive function.

The one pictured was a cups and balls challenge, which encouraged residents to put their focus to work.

These meaningful games are a vital part of how we support wellbeing and keep minds active in our Memory Support Unit. 🧠✨

We strive to create environments across our villages which are inclusive, supporting and ensure every residents feels seen and involved.

Our recent creative group activities in our Memory Support Units have been a fantastic way for residents to connect with each other and our team through shared laughter and play.
These activities ensure participants are given the opportunity to express themselves in a gentle, welcoming way that works for them. ✨

It has been an incredible week across our villages as we celebrated National Volunteer Week with a very special initiative! 🌟

This week, we hosted our annual RFBI Corporate Partners Volunteer Week. We opened our doors to 50 representatives from our corporate partner organisations, inviting them to spend a day volunteering, connecting with residents and experiencing the heart of daily life in an aged care setting. 🏡

Launched in 2018, this unique program gives our business partners a deeper look at how their goods and services directly support older Australians. The residents absolutely loved the fresh conversations, the shared stories and the wonderful new relationships built throughout the week. ☕💬

Our CEO, Frank Price sums it up perfectly: “Spending time in our villages helps our partners better understand the realities of aged care... while residents benefit from genuine engagement and new relationships built around shared experiences.”

A massive thank you to all of our partners who stepped away from their desks to bring their energy and compassion into our communities.

Residents in RFBI Concord Community Village have been branching out through a beautiful dot painting activity! Using colours of their choice to create a wonderful tree art piece, they’ve been putting their creative expression and fine motor skills to work as part of our Memory Support Unit activities.

There is something so peaceful about the rhythm of dot painting and it is always amazing to see the unique style every resident brings to the branches. 🌈✨

There is nothing quite like the unconditional love of a four-legged friend to brighten up the week! 🥰✨

Residents in RFBI Armidale Masonic Village were again thrilled to welcome back the team and some of the furry friends from BackTrack for their Paws Up program. BackTrack does incredible work supporting young people in the Armidale community, and our staff have loved facilitating this regular pet therapy partnership.

Every month we are are lucky to have their beautiful dogs visit the residents for plenty of pats and treat-giving. 🐕🦴

As you can see from the photos, having this consistent program in place makes an absolute world of difference. It brings so much comfort and joy to our residents and it has quickly become a highlight that everyone looks forward to.

Join us in wishing a very Happy 100th Birthday to Irena! 🥳💯🎉

Our RFBI Concord Community Village family was absolutely thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone with Irena. We created a colourful and bright birthday gathering which included her loving family, dear friends and our village team. 🧡

Reaching 100 is an extraordinary achievement and it was a privilege to look back on such an amazing life and legacy. From the cutting of the cake to the beautiful family photos, it was an afternoon filled with special moments for all. 📸🍰

Half a century of history, friendship, and community! 🥂✨

RFBI Pearce Masonic Retirement Village officially marked 50 years as part of the local Canberra community. Established in 1976 to provide safe, affordable and welcoming homes for older Australians, our village has grown into a beautiful, close-knit hub of independent living. 🏡

Residents, staff and special guests came together to celebrate this golden milestone.

We shared a lovely lunch, took a trip down memory lane with a historical photo slideshow and cheered as long-term residents, May and Gillian, officially cut our anniversary cake! 🍰📸

Thank you to all who joined us for this special occasion.

We want to send a huge thank you to the Waratah Village Association for their incredibly kind donation to residents in RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village.

Our team recently needed an additional tilt-and-recline wheelchair with a wider seat to ensure one of our residents could stay comfortable and supported. When the Association heard about the $2,530.00 cost, they stepped in to fund the equipment in full! 🙌

The new chair has arrived and we were so happy to have members of the Association join us at the village so we could say thank you in person.

It’s local legends like these who help to make our communities such wonderful places to live.

Thank you for your kindness and for helping us provide the very best care for our residents! 🧡
