Residents in RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village enjoyed a vibrant celebration of Teej Festival last week! 🌸✨

Our amazing staff dressed in colourful Indian Sari dresses and performed traditional dances, delivering an authentic cultural experience for all to enjoy. Residents loved learning the dances alongside staff and joining in the celebrations 💃🎶

To complete the experience, staff prepared a delicious traditional feast for morning tea and lunch. A big thank you to our wonderful team for bringing such a meaningful cultural celebration to life for residents.

Together they provide calm competence and unwavering dedication that earnt them a well-deserved place as finalists for Team of the Year at the 2025 RFBI Showcase Awards!

Often working quietly in the background, their coordination, empathy and quick decision-making (particularly during the recent flood events) ensures our quality care continues without disruption. Their steady hands and support keep the village running smoothly.

🎾 Game, set, match at RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village!

Our residents had a ball (literally!) during a seated tennis activity using soft balls, balloons, lightweight rackets and even their hands. The room was full of laughter and cheering as everyone joined in on the fun.

One of the great things about activities like this is that it caters to a range of mobilities, giving more residents the chance to stay active and be involved.

We can’t wait for the next game! 💙

Today we are shining a light on Irene Gallagher! 🌟

Irene, our long-serving Hospitality Manager in our RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village, has been named a finalist in the 2025 RFBI Cook/Chef of the Year category at our upcoming RFBI Showcase Awards.

For over two decades, Irene’s passion for cooking with heart - from her legendary profiteroles to homestyle meals with a country touch - has brought comfort and joy to our residents. She's also contributed to Meals on Wheels, our coffee shop and special village events.

Congratulations Irene! Your dedication and culinary care truly deserve this recognition.

Spring is in the air!

We’re finishing up our winter warming celebrations and getting ready for some fun in the sunshine over the coming months.

We can’t help but share these great photos of our last winter celebration - straight from RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village.

Residents enjoyed a delicious lunch featuring chicken mignon and lamb cutlets finished by sticky date pudding with a scrumptious butterscotch sauce in a room decorated in a winter wonderland.

🦎💙 Meet Xena - our newest resident at RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village!

Our beautiful bearded dragon has been an instant hit with residents, staff and visitors. After a village vote, Xena got her name and she’s already part of daily life, with one resident visiting her terrarium every morning to say hello.

She may be unique, but she’s quickly become family. Welcome home, Xena! 🏡✨

With the RFBI Showcase Awards looming, you can imagine how challenging it has been to choose the finalists and just one winner from our team deserved of each of the awards! Our teams deliver excellence in aged care in all that they do and quality care every day.

Amongst those who deserve recognition is our wonderful RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village Lifestyle Team - Robyn, Karena, Sharon, Maree and Karuna shine in everything they do. Through engaging programs, meaningful events and imaginative activity design, the team enhances resident wellbeing every single day.

Residents at RFBI Benhome Masonic Village were treated to a stylish morning as Donna-lou brought the latest winter looks to our village.

Staff and volunteers modelled the outfits with flair, while residents enjoyed music, danced along and loved feeling the beautiful soft fabrics. 🧣🧥

Of course, our residents showed us they still love to shop till they drop! 🛍️

👏 What a fantastic day at the RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village Open Day!

Held at Edgeworth Bowling Club, the event brought together residents, families and community members to learn more about the services and support available in our region.

Guests enjoyed a delicious morning tea, a lively Q&A with our residential, retirement and care at home service teams, and the chance to browse the beautiful handmade items from our Craft Cottage managed by Helen (a group which meets every Friday morning in the village for craft fun).

🌟 The feedback has been amazing and we are grateful to our partners Edgeworth Town Square TerryWhite Chemmart, Hearing Australia (Darryl in particular for sharing his inspiring story about the life-changing impact of hearing aids) and Active, Stronger, Better for sharing their insights during the event.

🎶✨ What an afternoon at RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village!

Residents were entertained by Timor Leste, a group of young men from East Timor who performed a mix of cultural music and English classics.

From singing along to the classics, to tapping feet, clapping hands and even a little dancing, the joy was infectious! 💃🕺

We can’t wait to welcome them back again soon. 💙
