Yesterday I had the most wonderful opportunity to spend the day at my old stomping ground - Glen Street Theatre - assisting with the 30 Hour Theatre Project - a self-devised theatre project created for local kids. The project was part of a weekend long celebration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Forest Youth Theatre Company - the youth theatre company I was a part of as a teen and young adult.

I can’t put into words just how significant it was for me to find my tribe of like-minded theatre kids at such a young age. From the theatrical education on stage to the friendships formed in the dressing rooms to the shenanigans at the after parties, my time with FYTC cemented my love of theatre and set me on a course of embracing a life in the arts.

To spend a day watching the new generation of theatre kids flourish as well as catching up with dear, dear friends was just so fabulous for the soul ✨Thank you to absolutely everyone for putting together such a joyous weekend.

As always, a huge thank you to this lovely group of performers - from a vast array of disciplines - for sharing so honestly and openly about their difficulties with performance anxiety. I hope you all came away with something valuable that will encourage a more positive approach to your craft x

There’s nothing as awesome as getting the opportunity to speak on your passion subject for a few hours. And that’s exactly how I got to spend my day!

A massive thank you to Jo, Chantelle, and the 1st and 2nd year cohort of the Ettingshausens PRO program at Ettingshausens for having me in to deliver my Resilience Mindset workshop.

Today, the students learnt about how to embrace a growth mindset when it comes to facing the anticipated challenges of being a creative student and working professional, such as dealing with feedback, mistakes and failure.

What a wonderful group of students! Thank you again for having me and I look forward to visiting again soon xx

A huge thank you to Music Theatre Futures again for organising such a brilliant music theatre conference and providing me the platform to speak openly about my passion subject - better mental health and well-being support for working professional creatives.

It was such an inspiring conference to be a part of, to not only share my own ideas and solutions, but to immerse myself in other presentations provided by various music theatre creators, teachers, academics and researchers. Congratulations to all involved and very much looking forward to the next one! x

What a dream! BEYOND stoked to see the culmination of my own industry research and years of passion come to fruition at the fabulous Music Theatre Futures conference yesterday.

Having the chance to speak openly and honestly about the unique mental health challenges facing those who work in the music theatre sector was an absolute privilege and one I take very seriously. I’m hoping by being presented with the cold, hard facts about our mental health, coupled with recommendations around real tangible solutions leads to important cultural and systemic change in our industry.

A huge thank you to everyone who completed my surveys (still not too late if you’re interested!), and a special shout-out to those who spoke to me so openly about their negative experiences, which were delivered as anonymous case studies within the presentation. You know who you are. Thank you for trusting me, your honesty and your willingness to share those dark moments with me. Please know that those in attendance were just as shocked and disappointed as I was, and the feeling in the room was that change is needed and swiftly! Let’s hope that yesterday starts a conversation to real, positive change x
