Here’s the things I’ll always make sure are stocked in my home first aid kit, as a mumma of 2 little ones. What’s in your first aid kit?

Kids + bikes + scooters = so much fun… but also a few things parents should know 🚲🛴

A few quick safety tips we always share with families:
• Helmets every single ride
• Make sure bikes/scooters are the right size for their age
• Supervise younger riders near driveways and roads
• Teach them to stop and look before crossing paths

Small habits make a big difference when it comes to preventing injuries.

Save this for later if your little one is in their riding era 👶👦

Today we’re celebrating International Women’s Day — and the little girls (and boys) watching everything we do.

Building How to Save a Life has always been about empowering parents and carers with the knowledge that could one day save a child’s life.

But it’s also about showing our daughters what women can build, lead and create and that they can do anything.

Stevie and Delilah, we hope you are proud of your mummy’s 💕

For those that are new here, Emily our co founder had to initiate choking first aid when her daughter was around 1 after she noticed her become floppy and pale in her high chair.

Emily quickly removed her daughter from the high chair, and began performing sharp and FIRM back blows using as much gravity as she could and was able to clear her daughter’s airway.

We share this story with you not to scare you, but we want you to be prepared and know how to help if your child needs you.

It does look like a lot of force, but your child is relying on you to help clear their airway so you must use enough pressure and as much gravity as you can.

Tiny noses = big problems. Babies are nose breathers, so even a little congestion can make feeding, sleeping and breathing harder.

💧 Saline drops to loosen mucus
👃 Gentle suction (before feeds & sleep)
🚿 Steam from a warm shower (sit in the bathroom, not the shower)
🛏️ Keep them upright for cuddles

🚩 Seek medical help if you notice:
• Chest wall recession
• Flaring nostrils
• Grunting
• Poor feeding
• Lethargy

Clear nose. Calm baby. Confident parent.
