I thought I’d just share a day in the life of me feeling all of the feels. Over the years I have learnt that being emotionally resilient is not switching yourself off to your emotions and feelings. It’s about allowing them to be present with you and allowing space for yourself to be curious. Remember that you have always got you, and everything you need is already inside you!!! Emotional resilience is vital to navigating life’s inevitable ups-and-downs. But before we develop resilience, we must learn how to become aware of our own emotional states — only then can we take action to address them. What does this involve?

➡️ Identifying and labelling our emotions
➡️ Developing awareness of our senses
➡️ Implementing strategies to regulate our emotions

Importantly, developing greater resilience and awareness of our emotions is an ongoing journey. What works for each of us may change according to our life circumstances.

As an Occupational Therapist, I love using colour walks to bring myself to the present moment and encouraging others to join. By noticing different colours in our surroundings, we build awareness and attention and reconnect with a sense of calm, curiosity in the world around us.

Perfect for regulating emotions, practicing mindfulness, and boosting confidence in a low-pressure way. 🧠👣
