Hands Can Talk

Hands Can Talk Hands Can Talk has been in business since 1996.Teaching Key Word Signing Proloquo2Go. Also post regular sign language graphics and descriptions. WHY??

Hands Can Talk was founded by Aileen Ryan in 1996. Because of her daughters needs and the needs of the wider community to be educated, informed and helped to understand the advantages of using sign language with children just like Elysha. Elyshas has Down Syndrome and is hearing impaired. Elysha is a prolific signer, as all her schooling was within Hearing Units. Elysha can talk but is hard to understand. Between sign language with those who can sign and Proloquo2Go on the ipod when shes out in the non signing community Elysha is doing very well.

Another request, sign for Australia

Australia: This is another complex looking sign with all the hands but quite simple. Imagine picking something up and then dropping it down.
Australia: Both hands middle finger and thumb form 'O' hand shape, rest of the fingers out straight (but relaxed). Hold formation out slightly & infront of chest. Simultaneously move hands circling in toward body, lift and drop, ending with middle finger and thumb flicking open.

Really worth watching if your child wears hearing aids. Great way to know if batteries are flat or not.

Same: Both hands, index finger straight. Hands held slightly apart, then simultaneously move toward each other and index finger edges tap together twice.

Different: both hands index finger straight. Hands held in front of body slightly apart. Simultaneously move hands, tap index fingers against each other then pull apart, flipping hand over, palm up. (looks a bit like your making the McDonald's sign).
