This tragic news has deeply affected our team.

Our prayers go out to the family, loved ones and all those impacted by this heartbreaking loss. While we did not know this family personally and do not provide services in Perth, their story has resonated deeply with us as Support Coordinators, as we know there may be others in similar circumstances who are struggling quietly.

As Support Coordinators, we see firsthand the pressure families, participants and nominees are under every single day. This tragedy highlights the very real impact of budget cuts and reduced supports under the NDIS.

When essential supports are stripped back, families are left carrying an unbearable load, often in silence. No one should ever feel this isolated, overwhelmed or unsupported.

This must be a lesson and a turning point. For the NDIS. For service systems. And for all of us.

Please take this as a reminder to check in on participants, families, carers and nominees. A simple conversation, genuine support and timely intervention can save lives.

Meet some of our amazing team here at Evolve
From right to left
✨ Rim – Rim holds a Bachelor in Social Work and is a skilled Support Coordinator with extensive experience. She specialises in both physical and psychosocial disabilities, always working with compassion and dedication.

✨ Rayan – Rayan is a committed Support Coordinator with multiple years of experience. With both personal and professional knowledge, she understands the importance of truly connecting with participants and their supports.
✨ Eman – Eman is the Director of Evolve and a highly skilled Specialist Support Coordinator. Eman specialises in working with participants with complex needs and is passionate about empowering them to achieve their goals. She has been appointed as a Justice of the Peace.
✨ Fadwa – Fadwa is an Arabic-speaking Level 2 Support Coordinator who brings valuable personal experience to her role. She is highly skilled, approachable and known for her empathetic nature.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has announced several pricing updates effective from 1 July 2025, as part of the Annual Pricing Review.

Here are the key changes you need to know:

Therapy Support Price Reductions
The maximum hourly rate for physiotherapy will reduce by $10 (from $193.99 to $183.99) and for dietitian and podiatrist services by $5 (from $193.99 to $188.99). These changes aim to bring NDIS prices in line with broader market rates.

National Price Harmonisation
Differentiated pricing across states and territories will be removed for physiotherapy and psychology services. Psychology services will see a price limit increase of $10 to a new rate of $232.99 per hour.

Support Worker Wage Adjustments
Support worker rates will be updated to reflect changes in the minimum wage under the SCHADS Award and adjustments to the Superannuation Guarantee.

Therapy Session Flexibility
Therapy support price limits will now be presented in 10 minute increments, providing greater flexibility in session delivery.

Plan Management Funding Changes
The plan management set up fee will be discontinued and remote loadings will be removed, changing the funding structure for plan managers.

Automatic Budget Adjustments
Funds in participant plans at the end of the financial year will be automatically increased to ensure participants can meet the costs of NDIS supports.

These changes aim to promote value for money and greater consistency across the NDIS.

NDIS Price Guide Update – Effective June 30, 2025

From June 30, the NDIS will implement changes to how supports are billed under the updated Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. One key change is that Capacity Building supports can no longer be billed from Core funding.

This means participants will need to ensure they have funding allocated in their Capacity Building budget to access these supports.

New NDIS Funding Periods — Starting 19 May 2025

From 19.5.25, NDIS plans will have applied funding periods, where your funding is released in quarterly instalments. This means funds become available every 3 months but accumulate across your plan.

Key Points to Know:
• Funding periods begin from the start date of your plan, not the first of the month.
• Unspent funds will roll over to your next funding period within the same plan.
• However, any remaining funds won’t carry into a new plan once your current plan ends.
• You and your Plan Manager or Approved Support Coordinator will be able to view your funding periods in the NDIS portal. Other providers won’t have access.
