Hey everyone,

In today's western world, it's easy to get caught up in prioritising everyone else —whether it's family or work. But remember, taking care of yourself is not a selfish act it's both important and critical to your wellbeing.

Finding a balance between nurturing your loved ones, excelling at work, and prioritising your own needs can be challenging. However, it's crucial for maintaining your emotional and physical health and happiness.

Here are a few tips to help you prioritise your own needs in a balanced way:

1. Schedule Self-Care: Make time for activities that recharge your batteries, whether it's reading, exercising, or simply taking a relaxing bath.
2. Set Boundaries: Learn to say "no" when necessary. It's okay to set limits at work and with family to protect your time and energy.
3. Communicate Openly: Talk to your family and colleagues about your needs. They might be more understanding than you think!
4. Practice Mindfulness: Take a few moments each day to focus on your breath and calm your mind.

By prioritising your own needs, you'll become a better version of yourself for everyone around you. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup!

Are you Living in your Activewear?

Did you know your favourite workout clothes could be exposing you to harmful microplastics? Synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon release microplastics, especially when you sweat. These particles can enter your body through the pores in your skin, carrying toxins like BPA, which are linked to hormonal disruptions, obesity, and more.

What can you do about it?

• Transition into wearing natural fiber blends when possible, such as organic cotton, wool, linen and bamboo.
• Stop hanging out in your activewear: change out of sweaty activewear immediately after exercising.
• Wash clothes in cold water and use filters to reduce microfiber shedding.

♡ The Slow Movement
Every year seems to pass more quickly than the last. Our ever-growing to-do lists and the demands of daily life often challenge our ability to live in harmony with ourselves and nature.

The Slow Movement invites us to pause and marvel at the beauty of life. It reminds us that true fulfilment lies not in the rush of life but in the moments we fully embrace.

♡ Take it Slow..
A Buddhist monk once stopped me and asked why I was in such a hurry; now I realise the rush was all in my head, not the external world.

Being present means immersing ourselves in the here and now and appreciating the little things—a shared laugh, a moment of understanding or a warm hug. When we slow down, we open our hearts to the richness of each experience we often take for granted. Remember, cherishing our lives in this way will nourish our souls.

♡ Deepen Connections
Western society often prioritises productivity over relationships. The Slow Movement encourages us to deepen our connections with others and put relationships first. Whether it’s through meaningful conversations, shared meals, or simply being there for one another, these interactions create bonds that deeply enrich our lives. By investing time in nurturing our relationships, we allow love to flourish in our presence.
