The World is the last Major Arcana of the Tarot deck and fittingly the world represents the completion of things. The ending of cycles and the promise of something new.
The world portrays a n**e woman floating in the sky holding lightning rods and surrounded by a wreath- a symbol of success and triumph. She is protected by guardians, mush the same as the Wheel of Fortune has guardian protecting it.
Her nudity is representative of her freedom from the rules, concerns and worries of the world for she has come to the conclusion that everything has its time and everything comes to an end. Everything is temporary and to see this card is to have the universe pat you on the back for a job well done and the reward being travel, which is the other meaning of this card. To travel, be that locally, interstate or to another country, travel is about the freedom to express yourself in a new environment. Travel and often holidays abroad have a tendency to bookend cycles in our life. We often mark a holiday or travel as a milestone that we have achieved and everything before it and everything after it is marked by that change because travel in the world gives perspective which changes our perception of life and ultimately gives us a greater appreciation and gratitude for our life.
In its revered form, The World can speak of a sense of personal closure around things in our life or the frustration of delays and trying to take shortcuts to achieve goals. You can’t short cut a process because you cheat yourself out of the satisfaction and victory of the lesson within the process.

Judgment is a very misleading card in tarot. On the face of it we often jump immediately to feelings of guilt and judgment about ourselves or from a higher power and although there is an aspect in the card which represents this perspective of judgment, it’s not the whole story.
Judgement is about rebirth, moreover than being judged for our sins. It asks us to take an honest review of our life or situation and to answer the call at the heart of the matter that has brought us to a pause point. The type of moment we have all had, many of us multiple times, dare I say. Where we ask ourselves “what am I doing with my life?” Judgement is asking exactly this but at the deeper level and asking you to judge your life against your own inner calling. We all have a moment where we feel pulled, called, drawn to a different path than the one we are currently on. For some, this is exciting and for others terrifying because it might mean abandoning all the effort and energy already used to establish your current path. But the truth is regardless of which one you are, the call will get louder and louder and you will only be able to ignore it for so long because the universe will make the changes you need for you to answer the call.
In its reversed form, Judgement is that self doubt and avoidance of the call or your path forward. It’s your inner critic being vicious about your life decisions and making you feel guilty. But guilt is a useless emotion beyond having inflicted actual traumatic harm to someone. Guilt keeps you caged and bound to a path you hate. Remove guilt and your cage opens and your path calls.

The Sun is positivity personified. It is fun, joy, success, warmth, light, good times and any and all connotations of positivity you can imagine.
Always a positive card it represents the energy of the sun and its ability to give life to our world and everything in it just like the sun helps grow plants and by extension feed animals, both of which ultimately sustains us as humans and enables us to build our civilisation. The sun is often depicted as a beautiful horse triumphantly frolicking with a young boy on its back holding a red flag in a field of sunflowers. Why? Because why not? Joy and fun and positivity is a mindset and doesn’t depend on external conditions and that’s the deeper meaning behind the Sun for us to remember. When our mindset is positive, then it doesn’t matter the circumstances and even when the circumstances of our life seem insurmountable, know that the Sun will shine on you once again. Here comes the Sun!

The Moon is a very misunderstood card. On one side it represents the illusions of life but on the other it encourages intuition. The moon itself is a mysterious place and throughout human history has seen many a god and goddess embody this heavenly vessel. The moon is all about anxiety, illusions and fear, yet also the courage to use intuition to see through these illusions because fear after all is not real and anxiety is the anticipation of something that hasn’t happened.
The two dogs barking at the moon is actually a wolf and a dog representing the duality of our nature. Tamed dog, wild wolf. Our conscious and subconscious and the mysteries that dwell beneath the surface, that is why a lobster or crayfish is emerging from the waters. A symbol of our consciousness beginning to awaken to awareness of the subconscious.
Whenever the moon appears it’s a warning to look deep and see through the illusions of a situation, person or your own biases. It asks you to use your discernment and intuition to uncover the truth behind the shadows the moon casts.
In its reversed form, the Moon can represent a release of these fears and anxieties or an inner struggle of confusion and doubt where we are repressing our emotions instead of expressing them out of fear and the illusion we think people will react to us, but that’s anxiety talking and not the truth which is ultimately that people will treat you the same way you treat yourself. The mirror of our subconscious reflects our internal thoughts, feelings and attitudes outwards into the universe to be reflected back to us.

The Star heralds the coming of hope. She is an omen of renewal and faith for the positive in your life. She is n**e because she is free from burden, worry or concern about her appearance or lack there of. She is real and raw and profound in her ability to bring light into the dark of life. She is a star after all. She waters the land just as much as she waters the ocean bringing equal attention and light to all areas of your life. She is the driving force that gives purpose and renewal towards our spiritual and material pursuits.
In her reverse form however she speaks of a lack in trust and faith within ourselves about our own purpose and pursuit for what makes us shine. Her reversed form is the disconnect from our path, no matter what it is. Whenever the star appears she is positive reinforcement that your rebirth and renewal of your purpose is at hand. Rejoice for she brings the light which will guide you forward.

The Tower card or a Tower moment is the one card that actually means what it says. Whereas Death or the Devil often represent change and addictions, the tower literally means your world is falling apart and there’s nothing you can do about it.
The tower is a very powerful card and highlight how things often beyond our control can come tumbling down and affect us in many different ways. To be in a tower moment is to have your world fall apart, often in the more emotional and metaphysical sense rather than the physical, but physical is also common. When our tower falls, we fall with it and it’s in this moment we do one of two things. Either we get back up, shake it off, learn from our mistakes and rebuild or we become the victim of our circumstances and wallow in our own self pity blaming everyone and everything for our troubles without actually doing anything about it.
The tower is a teacher and an opportunity to start again. Usually this means a change in mindset, but sometimes a larger change is needed and this brings awakening and revelations because of the clarity of having no tower left to block your view of insight.
In its reversed form the Tower is about internal upheaval and change, the fear of change and or the decision that you have decided to tear down your tower and rebuild before disaster strikes externally.
Whatever the reason, embrace the chaos of the tower because it brings with it clarity and a new dawn and the possibilities of that new horizon.

The Devil is the second most feared card in Tarot after Death and yet the most misunderstood.
The Devil actually has nothing to do with the Devil itself and more to do with our shadow self. The side of ourselves that we often avoid or push down because we are afraid to face our own truth, pain, trauma and fears and so instead of feeling and healing, we seek distraction and comfort in those distractions which often end up becoming additions and attachments and this is why the Devil is represented here. He is the ultimate personification of our vices and the addictive nature of those vices. In fact the Devil literally does nothing in this card except sit on a plinth and entice. It’s the human figures who are giving into their own temptation rather than anything the devil is doing. Addiction and attachments that become toxic because of momentary highs or distractions from our refusal to deal with problems can take on many forms and are not only reserved to drugs and alcohol. Toxic relationships, codependency, anxiety are also negative forms of addiction and attachment. The devil warns us to be weary of those parts of ourselves we refuse to acknowledge and says if you don’t acknowledge me, then I will consume you with distraction. The devil is about shadow work and the darker side of our psyche and in its reversed form it speaks to this deeper point. Asking what is limiting your beliefs and mindset. Where are you stuck or what are you ignoring that’s forcing you to seek comfort in the devil. Because the irony is the devil always wins when you don’t want to face your own demons.
Once you’ve conquered your demons they no longer have any power over you and you discover that the middle path becomes the road to travel in life where you have control over yourself and your fears even in the presence of temptation. You’ve learned to dance with your demons.

Temperance is about balance. The card depicts an androgynous angel balancing water being poured between two cups symbolising the balance of our dualities which we take for granted.
Temperance is representative of moderation, integration, partnership, patience and purpose. In the distance is a crown glowing on-top of a mountain and path leading to it. This shows the middle path as spoken of by Buddha. A path that highlights the need for balance and moderation on our path towards our goals and ultimately the purpose that goal and path gives us.
When reversed, Temperance is out of balance and things can feel excessive in the extreme in our lives. It eludes to re-alignment and self healing that needs to take place for us to re-centre and move forwards in balance between our dualistic nature towards our goals.

Death with a capital D is often the most fear card in the Tarot deck because of its literal connotation. However, death in tarot is rarely actual physical death, rather it is the metaphysical death that takes place when we reach a crossroads in our lives and a phase or cycle comes to an end.
Death is necessary for life to continue and nothing and no one is able to stop it, no matter how hard they try. Death allows rebirth to happen and in our personal lives death heralds the end of the old and the birth of the new. This can be for anything from major life events, like the end of a relationship, loss of a job, end of a career, retirement, moving house or country and rarely but also, the death of a loved one.
Death is more about transformation and change than it is about the end of something and likewise when in reverse it represents a resistance to change and rebirth, but on a deeper level can signal a need for inner transformation and purging in order for something to end and the new to begin. Death is the card of shadow work, when we are faced with our demons and forced to deal with them because otherwise we die by way of being consumed by our shadow self out of avoidance and fear or reborn like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of our shadow self fully integrated and awake to the potential and power.

The Hanger Man- this is a unique card and often seen as a negative card on the face of things. It looks and sounds like what it looks, but the Hanged Man isn’t about being hung by the neck, in fact the complete opposite. The hanged man is about pause, stillness, surrender. He is all about being patient and going with the flow of things. Often times he is the universe giving you permission to slow down, stop and think about where you’re going or what you are currently doing. The hanged man is the universal handbrake being pulled up by way of delays, blocks, dead ends and so on showing up in your life. It’s the universe way of saying, “hey, maybe this direction isn’t the best for you?!”
The hanged man asks you to surrender and allow things to unfold instead of forcing them to happen to your schedule.
In his revered form the hanged man is about you ignoring the signs of delays and hitting your head against a break wall because the harder you resist the strong that resistance becomes. But if you’re not resisting anything then perhaps you are stalling to make a decision on something in which case the same is true, that which you ignore to make a decision becomes that much louder for you to deal with.
The lesson here regardless of which position it appears is for you to surrender and flow with the timing of things. Take this pause as a chance to relax and reflect so things have time to shift on their own or to gather your thoughts before you make a decision.
