A is for April and Adenomyosis!

April is Adenomyosis Awareness Month. Adenomyosis is very similar to endometriosis (we often call them cousin conditions) as it can cause painful periods, affect fertility, and lead to heavy bleeding. Where endometriosis lesions occur outside the uterus, adenomyosis grows inside the uterine muscles. It is not uncommon for women to have both endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Aster Women’s Health supports the NSW Doctors Strike. The NSW government has proposed changes to the awards that would worsen doctor working conditions to the detriment of patient care. This isn’t a doctor pay issue, THIS IS A PATIENT SAFETY ISSUE!

Great mentors are hard to find and I am so fortunate to be able to consider Dr Criton Kasby as a mentor and friend. Although retired from medicine, he is still as sharp and active as ever and I had great delight in catching up with him over the weekend and viewing his work at the “Time to Shine” art exhibition.
