Hi, I’m Malinda the founder of Deep Within Yoga. With a decade of personal practice in Vipassana meditation and a 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training, I am here to offer a quiet and supportive space to help people slow down, move mindfully, and reconnect with themselves.

I know this energy that I am feeling today will pass. There is fear of the uncertainty, the unknown of what my tomorrow will hold.
My current thoughts have been whether you are rich or poor, death will come to us all.
So today, I woke up thinking that if every day the sun will rise - that is a gift.
Then this mind, this body, this breath is also a gift.. I am a ok! 👌

If I live to 100 I’m 35% of the way there.
If I live to 70 I’m 50% of the way there.
If I live to 50 I’m 70% of the way there.
If I live till tomorrow then I’m pretty much there!

This one goes straight into the gratitude memory bank. Thank you, Grow N Flow Yoga Studio in Carlton for inviting me to lead this event. Despite the fresh and brisky start to the morning today, we had a great turnout. The sky was clear, the sunrise was spectacular, and I’m feeling truly blessed for the shared experience and connection.

I’ve heard - Malinda, you are so inspiring but I could never do what you have done.
But truth is, I have bloody faced a lot and you can do.

I am just like you.
No more, no less.
Gosh… I am just like you.

Do you want change? - that is the real question.
I understand that not everyone is ready to confront their demons or to admit that there is something wrong.

It’s easy to stay up late when you know you need to rest.
It’s easy to eat more chocolate even when you know you’ve probably had enough.
It’s easy to have another drink because, hey when will we see each other again?
It’s easy to stay in bed, on a cold ass winters morning.

The easy option is not always the best one.
They say ignorance is bliss.
If only you knew…
You might then choose differently.

Yes, I may be brave but I’m also chicken s**t.

At my last meditation retreat, I shared with a fellow Vipassana meditator that I was so scared to go deeper. Already I had felt the whole experience was so profound, it was feeling like the more I gained insight into my internal world - the more I connected with a deeper truth, the more I was feeling quiet isolated in this outside world or should I say the reality I have grown up believing in.

She replied, “If we were using a knife I would be scared too, but we are using our minds. Don’t be afraid to go deeper, you will always come back.”

I had a dream that my baby boy was lying comfortably on my belly, and I felt really content. First things first, I don’t have any kids and have no desire to be a mum although I love children. ChatGPT is saying that it could be symbolic and that maybe my subconscious is connecting with that nurturing or mother-like energy on an emotional or spiritual level.

Maybe my heart chakra is opening up, letting more love and compassion flow inwards. If that’s what it is, I’ll take it! 🫀

I have to say, lately I’ve been feeling like I’m entering a new chapter where I feel more comfortable connecting with others. I’m usually pretty introverted, but all the recent social gatherings have been so wholesome. 🥰

I thought I was king s**t at 18 and at my prime at 21. But as the years go by and I grow older, I’ve come to realise, I don’t know anything at all. And honestly, that’s such a relief. 💡

I don’t have to know it all, it’s not even possible.
I’m not perfect.
I make mistakes.
I follow my heart.
I take leaps, always hoping for the best. 🤞
I fail sometimes, and it really hurts.

I’ve spent so much of my life putting pressure on myself to be this ‘good girl’. But I’m done with that.

As someone who struggles with unrelenting standards and perfectionism, I’m learning to observe my highly critical mind. A vicious cycle it goes in, until I allow myself to let it go.

I’m no angel. I’m just human.
And that is enough. 🙌
