Our Story
UNSW Psychiatry Society is a SIG (Special Interest Group) affiliated with the Medical Society (MedSoc) at the University of New South Wales. We aim to promote, facilitate and consolidate learning about Psychiatry for UNSW medical students.
Throughout the year, we hold psychiatry-based clinical skills workshops and specialty pathway information sessions for our medical students. We also act as a medium through which other Psychiatry education initiatives may raise awareness about Psychiatry within the medical student demographic. To a lesser extent, we work with UNSW MedSoc to destigmatise psychiatric disorders and strengthen medical student understanding of mental health, for both our future patients and ourselves.
