For the past 8 weeks, Amisha has been leading our Move for Life group every Wednesday, creating a supportive space for people over 50 to move with more ease and confidence. đź’™

As part of the program, members completed two reassessments: a hand grip test, which measures upper body strength; and a sit-to-stand test, which looks at lower body strength and leg endurance.

We’re so pleased to see improvements across both assessments (swipe to see the results 👉).

These changes don’t come from just one thing. Consistent movement, better sleep, nutrition, stress management, and overall wellbeing all play a role in supporting healthy ageing.

A name change might sound like a small thing.

But for people living with PCOS, being properly understood matters.

PCOS was never just about cysts.

For many people, it affects hormones, metabolism, insulin resistance, skin changes, weight management, energy, mood and long-term health.

So when the name only points to the ovaries, it can miss the bigger picture.

That’s why the move toward PMOS matters.

The hope is that it helps shift the conversation away from seeing this as only a reproductive health issue, and toward care that looks at the whole person.

If you live with PCOS/PMOS, support may involve your GP, endocrinologist, dietitian, exercise physiologist or other health professionals depending on your symptoms and goals.

At Move 2 Thrive Clinic, our role is helping people build strength, confidence and everyday capacity through safe, structured movement support.

Especially when long-term health conditions make knowing where to start feel confusing.

We often meet people whose shoulder feels weak, stiff, or unreliable even when they think they’re still “strong.”

A lot of people assume shoulder instability only happens after a major injury or dislocation, but often it shows up more subtly in everyday life, at the gym, or returning to sport.

The good news? Rehab can help retrain the whole shoulder system to work together again.

If your shoulder feels unstable, weaker than the other side, or is limiting the things you enjoy, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist may be able to help.

It’s Heart Week! ❤️

We often hear the advice to "exercise more" for our heart health, but let’s be honest, when you’re managing things like high blood pressure, diabetes, or just haven't been active in a while, that advice can feel a bit overwhelming.

The secret isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being repeatable.

Pick just one thing you can do 3 or 4 times this week. It doesn't have to be a marathon!

Once you’ve nailed that, we’ll build on it together. That’s how real progress happens.
