Celebrating OT Week this week, we bring awareness to the important work that is done every day by our amazing Occupational Therapists and Assistants.

One client, Rick, wanted to highlight how it takes more than just professional expertise to be an OT; “To be in this profession you really have to be a person of the heart. It takes a special kind of person to do this work, professional expertise is one thing, but human kindness is the most important factor.”

Following a stroke earlier this year, Rick praised his OT Emma and Royal Rehab, “Emma displays all these characteristics… Thanks to Royal Rehab, I don’t have to sell the farm, and for that I am forever grateful.”

During National Carers Week, we highlight the important role that family and friends play in the transition back to regular life after an injury or illness.

Following a ruptured AVM, Kathy has received immense support from her husband, David. From assisting Kathy at meal times and doing her nails, to decorating Kathy's room with signs saying that she is loved, David is just one of the 2.65 million Australians that act as carers for family and friends.

Cricket season is on the way. Go get ‘em Paul.

Paul makes the perfect pitch - creating a world-first beeping cricket ball 🏏

Paul, an NDIS participant who is blind, is transforming the much-loved game after spending the past few years developing a beeping cricket ball to increase participation among blind and low-vision players.

His community cricket club in south-east Queensland, the Blind Bats Inc, trialled the beeping ball last summer and the success has inspired Paul to take the game national.
