It was an honor to be part of the “Confidence in Practice: Real-world strategies in myopia management”, hosted by Hoya Australia, at the Optometry Australia Clinical Conference & Trade Expo 2025 as Event Partner.

It was lots of fun being part of the expert panel, along with Dr Craig Donaldson, optometrist Heidi Hunter, and Ulli Hentschel from Hoya, and share my case studies on myopia with intermittent exotropia and anisometropia.

Had the pleasure of presenting “Confidence in Practice: Implementing Myopia Management in Daily Practice”, with Optometrists Minh Anh Tran, Pak Seong Woon which was moderated by Pascal Bl**er at the Hoya Workshop.

This workshop was held twice during the GOMCC conference (Hanoi). I was able to share a case study on Myopia of Prematurity, with my take on how to look after infants with high myopia.

I’d like to thank my co-presenters for making the whole experience so much fun to do together.

Much appreciation to Menicon Australia, for their kind invitation to present myopia case studies of patients with intermittent exotropia and anisometropia! 👀 at their recent “Expert Insights and Grand Rounds” educational night.

Despite the growing evidence on myopia management, there is still a lack of information on how to best look after patients who have more challenging binocular dysfunctions.

Many thanks 🙏 to the optometrists who stayed to the end and contributed to the interactive discussions. ☺️

So fortunate and grateful to have attended Dr Glen ‘Bubba’ Steele (Emeritus Professor of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee)’s masterclass this weekend with our optometrists from Eyecare Kids. I first heard Dr Steele speak at the first ICBO conference I attended, many years ago.

Some topics covered this weekend was:
🍎Infant, toddler and child development,
🍏Just Look Retinoscopy,
🍐Active vs passive (screen use) development,
🍓Case studies, including alternating esotropia, binocular high hyperopia, exotropia, and intermittent exotropia,
🍇Effect of visual stress on attention,
🍒Development of central and peripheral vision,
🫐Prescribing plus lenses, and
🥝Early visual guidance and rehabilitation

Thank you Hoya Vision Care for the invitation to represent Australia at the International MiYOSMART Case Study Contest in September.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to present my case study on Congenital Stationary Night Blindness alongside Max Aricochi from Austria, Tang Yan from China, Daniela Goicea from Romania and Martelie Burger from South Africa, held during the International Myopia Conference in Hainan.

Huge congrats to Dr Tang Yan, paediatric ophthalmologist, 🤗 for coming first place with her excellent presentation on managing early-onset high myopia.
