The final staff introduction for the year is Elise, our patient co-ordinator.

Elise joined our team in 2016. With many years of experience in the medical industry, Elise assists our patients throughout their journey by providing quotations, organising surgical bookings and paperwork, along with offering any advice our patients are seeking before or after their surgery.

Elise prides herself on her professionalism and friendly nature. She will guide you seamlessly through your surgical journey.
This weeks introduction is Michele - our receptionist and administration support.

Michele’s work life has been varied but has always navigated towards customer service focussed roles as this is what she genuinely likes doing - helping customers, patients, clients.

Norwest Plastic Surgery has given Michele the opportunity to be the face that greets patients
when you come into our rooms for the first time or called us for the first time and as for many of
our patient’s plastic surgery is a journey, for many life changing, Michele’s friendly, easy going, professional manner helps to ease their anxieties with the first contact.

Michele has travelled extensively all over the world, and it has given her the ability to accept
and appreciate the differences that make up the world we live in. She is a mum of 3
young adults, 4 dogs, 1 cat, and happily married. She enjoys all things family,
outdoors, and is regularly seen with a smile on her face.
This week's introduction is Katie, our practice nurse and surgical assistant.

Katie has been a registered nurse for 15 years, and brings a wide variety and depth of skills to the team. Patients see Katie at their 1 week follow up to check their wounds, and at 3-4 weeks post operatively to discuss medium term scar management.

Her calm and friendly nature will put you at ease throughout your surgical journey.

Katie is also trained and ready to provide your anti wrinkle injections. At the time of this post we are still waiting on her formal training for dermal fillers before being able to offer that service again.

When Katie is not working, she enjoys reading, camping, hiking and spending time with her two young boys. She also volunteers her time with a local animal rescue organisation.
The State Health Ministers have been too busy to legislate patient safety. It's not hard to make it law that all doctors can only use their specialist title in any form of information and advertising. "Cosmetic Surgery" is not a specialist title, and nor should it be. I welcome the day when I can drop it out of all of my advertising and paperwork.

Who watched the ABC last night? It is long past time that AHPRA and the State Medical Boards put patient safety first. Th inappropriate use fo the title "cosmetic surgeon" has been a problem in Australia since the 1990s. In just the last few years, Sydney has seen the issues of The Cosmetic Institute, Dr Blackstock & Dr Lanzer in the media. When is it enough for the regulator to step in for patient safety?

Nicole passionate about giving her clients in depth knowledge about what is happening with their skin and working on customised treatments to achieving the best results.

We are back and open again! We did restart shortly after the long weekend and spent the first week putting the office back together. Last week we started seeing patients again and things are almost back to pre-renovation.

The staff are all back, and we'll be introducing our new dermal therapist on social media next week. She has actually been with us for several months, but we've not been able to allow skin treatments until last week due to public health orders.

For those followers that missed it, the Sydney Morning Herald were looking to do a story on someone that had taken up a new hobby during either the 2020 or 2021 lockdown. 🎄Merry Christmas to all our patients and to everyone who has supported us through 2020. It has certainly been a wild ride. We went from being shut down completely for 2 months, to being busier than ever, with Dr Sandercoe needing to increase his operating days. We even expanded from operating in one hospital, to three hospitals.
The last few months felt like a bit of a whirlwind! But the holidays are here. Dr Sandercoe and the team are now having some time off with family and recharging for 2021.
Closure dates:
Rooms close 12pm 17th December.
4th January limited administration return.
11th January entire team return.

We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

PS. How beautiful are these handmade treats from one of our beautiful patients?! 🍪🎄

Tonight Wests Tigers player Chris Lawrence is playing his last game. His career nearly ended abruptly last year after he suffered a massive facial injury during a training run. After colliding with another player he broke his maxilla (upper jaw), his nose, both eye sockets and both cheekbones. His palate had collapsed and teeth had been dislodged.
Dr Sandercoe is humbled and honoured to have been the surgeon who performed Chris’ facial reconstruction surgery after he had one of the worst contact injuries in Rugby League history. Read Chris’ recovery journey in this article.
