With the holiday season fast approaching, this week marks the final pause before our celebrations begin.

It is important to take this time to slow down, reconnect with loved ones, and recharge for the busy weeks ahead.

Remember: quality time with family and friends isn’t just about celebration - it’s a chance to nurture our mental health and wellbeing. Cherish these moments and prioritise the connections that matter the most to you in your life.

Can practicing gratitude help us become healthier and happier? Absolutely! Gratitude is a powerful form of expression: it trains our brains to notice the smaller details and foster a greater appreciation of the myriad positive elements that contribute towards our daily lives. Gratitude helps to increase our happiness, wellbeing, and life satisfaction, while reducing our feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger.

We should all be grateful for the growth we have made, the challenges we have overcome that built our resilience, and the moments we lived that made us stronger. Through gratitude, we can celebrate our life’s journey and the people who have been a part of it.

Our Professional Journey

Direct Focus Solutions grew from a need for enthusiastic and like-minded practitioners to help support and develop clients towards becoming the best they can be. We recognise that each of our individual clients are unique and that one size does not fit all. We understand that a combined team approach delivers higher quality services.

For instance, when counselling a traumatised client, face to face therapy is typically best supported by an occupational therapist’s emotional regulation techniques. Similarly, brain-training and biofeedback for individuals or groups can help them to reach peak performance targets.

We noticed that having clients work collaboratively with our clinical team increased the effectiveness of their treatments. Therefore, we developed an integrated approach wherein our multi-modal synergy has resulted in some of our most unique programs, such as cooking and movement classes. These programs can provide benefits such as social skill development, alpha theta brain training for trauma and mindfulness for health, weight loss, and enhance self-esteem. Our models of delivery are made to suit each client yet are always evidence-based. As our team has grown our number of locations has increased. However, we are mobile and flexible, being able to bring our services to your home, school, community or workplace settings. We’re a family owned organisation but remain invested in our team members bringing their projects and dreams into our planning. As an example, our social activist focus and community integration programs were inspired by a team member’s passion for teaching baking skills to refugees and other marginalised groups. We consequently sourced kitchens from local cafes and restaurants who wished to help support the program.
