Great article this morning in the Sydney Morning Herald, with our Practice Manager Michelle Horswood talking about the benefits of shortening vaccine dose intervals in kids.

As with any medical treatment, any questions you have about your particular circumstances should be discussed with your doctor.

Some Sydney doctors have elected to give children’s coronavirus vaccines at a shorter interval in an attempt to have more kids double-dosed by the first days of school.

We’re so proud of the great work Michelle and the team here are doing!

How lucky was I to get my from our educator - Michelle Horswood and her incredible team at O’Connell Street Clinic 😍 🙏

As a Practice Manager and one of Australia’s most experienced nurse immunisers, Michelle has been in the trenches since day 1. She has led with calm positivity through the ever-changing rules, restrictions and the challenges of running a medical clinic in Covid times (in CBD Sydney no less).

Yet, from day 1, Michelle has also continually shared every lesson learnt, joined me in training thousands of Australian practice staff in how to run vaccination clinics and manage in this Covid era. She constantly shares learnings and resources for the benefit of others.

I first met Michelle when she was PM of another practice many years ago and it was that impressive onsite experience that led me to invite her to join and help educate others in Practice Management and Nurse Leadership.

I am beyond thrilled to report that - as I expected - Michelle’s own Vaccine Clinic was an EFFICIENCY DREAM! It is a living example of an efficient, systematic approach with heart. Every step felt calm, smooth and caring, And yes, profitable.

I am not easily impressed and I am absolutely awe-struck!

It was everything I could do not to hug this awesome woman not just for giving us vaccines but being so generous in sharing her expertise.
Maybe after dose 2 a hug will be okay.

I feel so fortunate to have Michelle on team and look forward to my next onsite visit and will share more learnings soon.
Let us know if you missed our webinars and we will share.

Locking down again now, beyond grateful to all of you working so hard to keep us well and focusing on the hopeful future that vaccines bring us.

About Our Practice

O’Connell St Clinic is a comprehensive general practice facility that opened in 2014 to serve the healthcare needs of those who work or live in the centre of Sydney. The medical practice was formerly Gateway Quayside Medical Centre for more than 10 years before relocating to brand-new facilities in O’Connell Street in 2014.

Our team of doctors have been carefully selected to make sure we offer a full range of services to meet the health needs of women and men, young and old, the busy office worker, the transient work population and those who’ve made the city their home.

This practice has GPA accreditation and has been independently assessed to ensure national standards of safety and quality are maintained. Accreditation means our clients can be confident we uphold the highest standards of infection control, instrument sterilisation, information security and privacy of medical records.
