🟣 Today is World IBD Day – and it’s personal. 🟣

As many of you know, I live with Crohn’s disease, a type of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) that affects millions of people worldwide. It's an invisible illness that often involves chronic pain, fatigue, and unpredictable symptoms — but also resilience, strength, and determination.

At Changing Minds, we’re passionate about supporting people living with chronic conditions, whether physical or psychological. Living with IBD isn’t just about gut health — it impacts mental health, body image, relationships, and daily functioning.

Today, on World IBD Day, I want to:
💜 Acknowledge the strength of everyone navigating IBD
💜 Shine a light on invisible illnesses
💜 Encourage compassion and understanding — because you never know what someone else is managing silently

If you live with IBD or support someone who does, know that you're not alone. You are seen. You are strong. And there is support available.

Have you met our in clinic Animal Support Officer? Officer Oscar has been doing voluntary work at the Clinic for the past five years. He loves a cuddle, chat and lots of snacks. Oscar has a strong emotional intelligence, helping him to connect with others. If you would like to meet our lovely blonde Officer, please let us know at your next visit. His books are currently open and ready!

The only thing better than a weekend, is a long weekend!!
We will be closed on Monday 21st April 2025 for the Easter long weekend. It is a chance for all of us, including you, to have no alarm clocks, no rushing, and no working nights. Give yourself the luxury of slowing down this weekend, and recharging those batteries. We will reopen on Tuesday morning to see our amazing clients.

World autism Day is recognised as the 2nd April. It is a day made by the United Nations to recognise, and support the rights of autistic individuals. This year, we are celebrating its 18th anniversary with the theme, 'Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals". Lets turn "surviving" into "thriving"and create understanding and acceptance by celebrating life on the autism spectrum.💙💙💙

March 30th 2025 is World Bipolar Day. It is an international goal to bring education, information and awareness to the populations around the world about bipolar disorders. With education, improvements will be made in sensitivity towards bipolar disorder, as well as access to the latest research and best treatments in the field. Knowledge is power!!!

World Bipolar Day is recognised on March 30th each year, as it is the birthday of the famous painter, Vincent Van Gogh. He was diagnosed posthumously as having bipolar disorder. World Bipolar Day is a day to remember our strength, resilient nature and successes, as well as acknowledging that there is still so much to be learned!
