And 3 years later… this glorious bunch of humans and I have graduated in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy! 🥳🎉🙌

In a Hakomi session, the therapist creates a safe space where, through mindfulness and gentle body awareness, we explore the patterns and beliefs influencing your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It's a guided journey of self-discovery, working with your body’s natural wisdom and capacity for healing.

Most people seek therapy because they crave change.

But here’s the thing…

Before any transformation can take shape, we must first intimately understand how things are right now.

Often, people drift through life unaware of their truest feelings, beliefs, conditioning and perceptions of the world.

We get caught in repetitive and magnetic loops of thinking, feeling, interpreting, and behaving… naïvely expecting new outcomes.

Over my many years of courses, trainings retreats, vipassana etc I have noticed two extremes schools of thought with regards to how to navigate our feelings (and also our busy restless minds… but I’ll focus on feelings for this post).

1: Catharsis: Don’t suppress it, express it. Let yourself wail, let the tears fall, punch pillows and scream out in rage.

2: Meditation. Observe your feelings and thoughts without becoming attached to them, without getting lost in the story and spiralling into suffering.

Vastly contrasting, but both approaches promise harmony and balance.

I’ve most recently been studying something that sits in the middle which I’m getting so much from.

Tack så mycket, Sweden 🇸🇪😍! Thanks for the sticky cinnamon buns, the wild mushrooms and blueberries, the tea ceremonies, the icy lake plunges that took my breath away, the toasty sauna that warmed me back up, and my beautiful friends.

There have also been quite a few tough moments. Traveling is not always a breeze. 😮‍💨 Grateful to be more equipped than ever before to surf these waves when things get challenging. 🌊

By the way, I’m still offering therapy sessions as I travel and seeing clients online. 😊 I love staying in touch with your worlds. So if you ever need someone to talk to, no matter where you are in the world, I'm here for you. 🌍

So where has been my focus recently?

Over the past year I've been primarily supporting people facing challenges like anxiety, chronic pain, emotional overwhelm, grief, relationship & intimacy issues, stress, and depression.

These frequently end up being just the tip of the iceberg. But they can be clues to deeper beliefs bubbling beneath conscious awareness.

It’s fascinating how our bodies hold answers to what’s really going on and to how to make positive change.
