🎨 Join our Colouring Competition 🦷

These school holidays, it’s time for your little artists to show off their creativity in our clinic Colouring Competition!

Here’s how to get involved:
1. 🖼️ Pick up a colouring sheet at the clinic or email us for an electronic copy to print (reception@nwpd.com.au)
2. 🎨 Let your kids go wild with colouring at home, or at our on-site colouring station while they wait for their check-up!
3. 📅 Submit their masterpiece at their appointment or email us a copy of the completed art by the closing date.
4. 🎉 Artwork will be proudly displayed in the clinic, and winners will be announced after the holidays.

Age categories:
• 3-5 years
• 6-10 years
• 10+ years

With awesome prizes up for grabs in each category, it’s time to get creative!

Did you know that dummy use beyond the age of three is associated with what we call in dental terms an ‘anterior open bite’? 🦷

This means that the upper and lower front teeth don’t touch when the child bites together.

This can cause issues because it means the child’s teeth are misaligned when they close their jaws.

Think of it as toothpaste company marketing, not a medical recommendation.

Hi I’m Margaret, the newest specialist bringing smiles to NPD! 😁

I specialise in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery – which is a fancy way of saying I manage oral surgical problems. This includes wisdom teeth, stubborn extra teeth, cysts, lumps and bumps. At Norwest, I treat my patients under hospital day-stay anaesthetic.

I love working with kids! Paediatric oral surgery can be a fun challenge, and I aim to make every visit a positive experience for my patients. After all, creating happy dental memories for children can have a lasting impact. 🤗

One of the best parts of my job is offering teens and young patients the comfort of having their consultations in a familiar environment. Being surrounded by friendly faces they know and trust makes a big difference, especially for patients with additional needs.

When I'm not busy making dental visits a breeze for kids, you might find me carving up the slopes on my snowboard,❄️or exploring new travel destinations! ✈️

🖌️Our clinic reception makeover is now complete, and we look forward to hearing what you think of the new look and feel! 🖌️

The renovations have made the space more open and inviting, with a grander reception desk and plush new seating in the waiting area.

The TV 📺 is also back, to help keep our little patients entertained while they wait for their appointments. (P.s. to the adults, it’s always on ABC kids).

We’ve also got the toys 🧸 and books 📖 back after they took a little break to ensure everyone who came to our clinic was kept as healthy as possible.

✨Hi, I’m Dr Ashleigh – NPD’s newest specialist ✨

My goal is to create a calm and positive environment for my little patients 🧘‍♀️ and help them build their confidence and pride as they achieve their dental goals 💪.

I love all paediatric dentistry, but I have a particular passion for working with children with dental trauma, additional needs or complex medical backgrounds.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll catch me in the local farmers markets 🧑‍🌾, seeing live theatre and cheering on the matildas⚽.

And my fav dental tip for children? Swish and spit after brushing your teeth – don't rinse the toothpaste off. Leaving it overnight helps to better protect your teeth while you sleep 🦷.
