THERE’S STILL TIME!

You can still register for the yoga basics workshop at the OM Movement this Friday!

This two-hour workshop will cover fundamental poses, focusing on alignment and technique and emphasizing the coordination of breath with movement. It is suitable for beginners with little to no prior experience, as well as experienced yogis who want to dive deeper into their practice.

The end of the year is nearly here, and we have a very special treat for you to celebrate another year of yoga and meditation at OM!

This Sunday, December 22, instead of our usual flow and meditation at 4.45pm, we will follow our flow with a Sound Healing by special guest Kris Haigh from Trifold Energy.

Kris is a practitioner of Traditional Tibetan Sound Healing who has over fifteen years of experience in Energetic Healing and Vibrational Medicine. Tibetan Sound Healing is an ancient healing modality that uses certain sounds, frequencies and vibrations to release old, stagnant and blocked energies to produce an immediate sense of wellbeing.

I spotted this amazing looking tree in the early morning fog at Point Reyes along the Californian coast and could not resist popping my mat down underneath her beautiful branches. This particular part of Point Reyes is the second windiest place in the continental US. The trees that grow here have to dig their roots down deep and bend to the wind to survive. They are immensely strong, but also flexible when needed so even the heaviest of storms can’t break them.

NEW: YOGALATES WITH SHAYNA @ OM!

We are so excited to introduce heated Yogalates to our timetable!

Heated Yogalates combines the strength training of mat Pilates with the stretching focus of yoga. It focuses on the abs, core and glutes to help improve posture, develop coordination, stretch the muscles and stimulate circulation.

And of course, each session ends with a brief savasana! Also, did we mention Yogalates is a ton of fun?

Officially, our weekly Yogalates classes start on 25 June at 7am, but you can get an unofficial sneak peak tomorrow morning (June 18) at 7am!

Yin yoga can look like a simple—lazy even—practice from the outside. It is a beautifully meditative practice where poses are either taken seated or reclined and are held for longer periods of time. But when a pose challenges our flexibility and mental strength, each minute spent in it can feel like an hour. It is these long holds that are exactly what makes yin yoga so effective. Stretching our connective tissue, we make our bodies a little longer and a little stronger, while at the same time learning patience and resilience. Yin yoga can take us out of our comfort zone by making us turn inward, toward that inner voice that will help us endure in each pose and breathe through the discomfort. What makes the practice challenging is also what makes it so incredibly inspiring, beautiful and rewarding.

The OM Movement has yin yoga sessions on:
Mondays 6.15-7.15pm
Wednesdays 9.45-10.45am
Fridays 6.00-7.00pm
Sundays 6.15-7.15pm

Join us for a workshop that puts the power back in your hands! Learn practical skills that increase your level of awareness and help minimize the risk of victimization.

This is a workshop full of practical advice and easy to grasp techniques to give you the confidence and tools to help keep yourself safe.

All proceeds will be donated to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter. In addition, the AMP Foundation is going to match us dollar for dollar, doubling our donation!

Yoga Studio in the heart of Hornsby

Located in the heart of Hornsby on Sydney's leafy North Shore, the OM Movement offers its clients an oasis to leave behind the stresses, hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The studio opened its doors in 2013 as Living OM and has been offering yoga classes to everyone from first time practitioners, to experienced yogis, to professional athletes ever since.

You can come in for one of our heated flow classes to work up a great sweat, or maybe you prefer a softer, more restorative yin practice, a breath focused kundalini session or a guided meditation class.

We offer unheated lunchtime classes for our local desk warriors, and host student groups from high schools offering yoga as part of their PDHPE curriculum at our studio.
