Sanctuary Lifestyle Clinic is a wholistic family medical & psychological practice located on Sydney’s Upper North Shore, 3-5min walk from Hornsby Railway Station. We are very close to Hornsby Mall, Library and Westfield Shopping Centre. The building we are in is called the Avanti Complex and is between the BP service station and Bob Jane T-Mart. At Sanctuary, we focus on promoting the health and well-being of your whole person – mind, body and spirit. Our dedicated practitioners integrate conventional and complementary approaches using wherever possible lifestyle, preventive and nutritional aspects of medicine. We spend longer, more detailed appointments where necessary to try and treat the cause rather than just the symptoms. We make sure your treatment plan is personalised and right for you. HOPE Framework

One of the most important things we can do in society is to protect and nurture our children, who are our future.
Trauma is virtually inevitable in life in one way or another, with some children experiencing unspeakable trauma that has the potential to damage them long into their adulthood.
This is why I was very interested in this post by Dr Eric Arzubi, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, around giving children HOPE.

Perhaps we as adults, teachers, day care workers, health professionals can use this information to encourage support to our children.

It's 2017. A pediatrician asks an uncomfortable question. Everyone was studying why trauma makes people sick. He wanted to know why most survivors heal. His colleagues called the work "fuzzy." Dr. Robert Sege called it unexplored. For years, we measured ACEs. Adverse Childhood Experiences. Abuse. Ne...

SLEEP AND SUSCEPTIBILITY TO COLDS.

Are you prone to catching a cold? Perhaps getting more sleep may be the answer.
In this interesting study where participants were literally innoculated with the rhinovirus, those who had >7hrs sleep were 3 x less likely to actually develop a cold infection than those with 7hrs each night.

Just finished another awesome City2Surf. It teamed down for the last 1-2km making for a soggy and saturating finish but was still a lot of fun.
I was raising funds for ELIA Wellness an awesome health promotion charity run by the amazing Geraldine Chang Przybylko and heavily featuring my dedicated colleague Andrea Matthews who also works with our awesome team at Sanctuary.
There is still time to donate to support this very worthy cause if you willing.
Many thanks
