Our training program uniquely knits together four dominant paradigms of practice:

Week 1 of our new Perinatal Loss training (‘Grief, Trauma and Attachment: An Integrated Approach to Perinatal Loss) delivered- seven more weeks to go! This is a training program, delivered by Clinical Psychologists Dr Bronwyn Leigh, Carla Anderson and Dr Charise Deveney from the Perinatal Training Centre) for professionals working in the perinatal and infant mental health field who want a deep and comprehensive framework for supporting individuals through perinatal grief and loss.

Huge shout out to the Sydney Adventist Hospital for inviting me to speak this morning at their ‘Obstetric Emergency’ seminar. I was lucky enough to speak about all things Perinatal mental health with a particular focus on the recognition and treatment of postpartum psychosis. Because Perinatal mental health is everyone’s business!

Another inspiring morning with some Year 11 Barker students exploring their superpowers and areas to work on as they consider a career in Psychology! Absolutely loved their vulnerability and ability to engage with the material to self reflect and foster their growth. My favorite quote from this morning was from one group member who said “ you just need to learn how to be embarrassed”. This is so important, because there are often times where we feel embarrassed or uncomfortable for many different reasons, and if we can grow the skill of leaning into this feeling and giving permission for it, we can choose how to respond rather than our feelings dictating our response. Can’t wait for our next mentor session!
