Last week, we primed our minis-now the next 8 weeks will be packed with:

Todayโ€™s shout-out goes to Zacky, who showed incredible resilience and self-awareness during one of the toughest challenges in Minecraft: a ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ followed by an ๐„๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐ƒ๐ซ๐š๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐›๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž!

Historically, these high-stakes moments have been overwhelming for Zacky because of the โ€œdeath loopโ€ they can create. But this week, he demonstrated amazing progress:

โœ… Recognised when he was feeling distressed
โœ… Took breaks instead of pushing through to meltdown
โœ… Identified which parts of the activity were frustrating
โœ… Asked for help in a way the Games Master could support

This is a huge win-not just in the game, but in real-life skills like ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค.

What an EPIC Weekend at SXSW Sydney !!

WOW-Friday and Saturday (17โ€“18 October) were absolutely incredible! Our co-founders, along with some of our amazing Game Masters and Masters at Arms, had the privilege of being part of ๐’๐—๐’๐– ๐’๐ฒ๐๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“-and what an experience it was!

We didnโ€™t just talk about what we do-we ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง! From sharing our mission to running ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ-๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž ๐ƒ&๐ƒ ๐ญ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ packed with creativity, laughter, and brilliant ideas, the energy was off the charts.

Kate Hโ€™s 11-year-old son joined the Minds at Play Dungeons & Dragons Social Group and never looked back. Once a quiet observer, heโ€™s now confidently running his own campaigns at school and on weekends -speaking up, leading groups, and creating complex worlds with friends.

Weโ€™re so grateful to Kate for sharing this journey. Her words remind us why we do what we do - helping young people build social confidence, discover new passions, and create spaces where they feel seen and empowered.

Social interaction can be challenging - especially when the rules arenโ€™t clear and conversations feel forced.
But in our Minecraft Social Groups, connection begins with play.
